2) The modem driver file is in packed format. You must first unpack the file onto a diskette. Use the following from an OS/2 command line:
C: unpack DRV230.pak a:
C: is the drive you downloaded the file to.
Unpack is a routine which comes with OS/2.
DRV230.pak is the name of the file. Please note that 230 represents version 2.30, this number will change with subsequent changes to the driver.
3) Fax/PM must NOT be in receive mode when updating modem drivers. Go to the Fax/PM SETUP dialog box located in the Fax/PM scheduler (the desktop icon). The second entry, AUTO RECEIVE, should be NO.
If AUTO RECEIVE is YES, switch it to NO and click OK in the bottom left hand corner. Then go into the COMMUNICATIONS menu located above the SETUP icon and choose STOP TRANSMISSION. Go back into the SETUP dialog box and follow steps 4 through 10.
If AUTO receive is NO, follow steps 4 through 10.
4) Insert the disk containing the unpacked files into drive A (or whatever drive is available to you). In the COMMUNICATIONS tab of the SETUP dialog box click INSTALL ANOTHER MODEM.
5) Click BROWSE.
6) Select generic class1_class1 and click INSTALL.
7) The following message will appear:
"This module F:\Faxpm\DLL\class1.DLL already exists: do you want to override it?
Click YES.
8) After the message "installation is complete" appears, click OK.
9) Repeat steps 4 through 8, substituting Generic Class2_Aclass2 in step 6.
