ABOUT THIS FILE
This file contains the list of fixes that have been made to the IBM LAN
Support Program since Version 1.3.
LAN SUPPORT PROGRAM VERSION 1.38
Please refer to the READ.ME file on the Install diskette for a list of
enhancements since LAN Support Program Version 1.35.
DXME0MOD.SYS
LP01077 Corrected a problem where a free buffer could point to itself if a
TransmitConfirm call for a previous TransmitChain call happened
after the CCB interface had been closed.
DXMC0MOD.SYS AND DXMC1MOD.SYS
Updated to support new adapter hardware.
DXMAID
HS00643 Corrected to ignore case when comparing hex strings from
PROTOCOL.INI with the corresponding permissible ranges from the NIF.
HS00647
o Changed to support foreign (non-LSP) protocol stacks with more
than two parameters per keyword.
o Changed to accept bracketed module name for protocol manager
with imbedded blanks.
o Changed to not replace existing NETBIND and PROTMAN references
in AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS respectively.
LAN SUPPORT PROGRAM VERSION 1.37
Please refer to the READ.ME file on the Install diskette for a list of
enhancements in LAN Support Program Version 1.37.
DXME0MOD.SYS
LP01072 Added a global command line parameter to close the adapter. If this
parameter is present, DXME0MOD.SYS will issue a CloseAdapter request
to the NDIS MAC driver if DXME0MOD.SYS issued an OpenAdapter request
to open the adapter. This allows the locally administered address
of the adapter to be changed without closing the adapter.
1
Updated DXME0MOD.SYS so that the network management SAP x'E4' is NOT
automatically opened when using Token-Ring adapters. This SAP
should only be opened with Ethernet adapters.
LP01073 Closed an interrupt window that could have caused a CCB to never
complete.
LP01076 Corrected a problem using transmit/swap value 2.
DXMT0MOD.SYS
P0000007 Corrected a problem in a NDIS environment of not always being able
to open the adapter.
P0000007 Corrected a problem when keyword N = 2 is used of not being able to
delete names
P0000007 Made the default setting for the piggy back ack protocol to be off.
Use the PBA= keyword to turn the protocol on by setting PBA to a
value between 1 and 5.
DXMJ0MOD.SYS
D2062 Corrected a problem where DXMJ0MOD does not forward an XID frame
meant for another protocol stack.
D2536 Corrected a problem where Session-Alive sent with incorrect LSN.
D2644, D4011 Corrected incorrect NCB.Status maximum datagram packet size.
D3220 Corrected XID information field byte 2 bit 7.
D3499 Set DLC XID response window size for zero SAP to 0xff.
D3530 Corrected a problem where DXMJ0MOD does not forward an XMIT.TEST.CMD
response meant for another protocol stack.
D3834 Corrected a Session cleanup problem.
D4051, D4155, D4192 Corrected a problem where duplicate adapter address
causes NAME-IN-CONFLICT error.
D4173 Change to keep T1 and Ti timers from wrapping.
D4182 Change to DXMJ0MOD version number.
D4361 Corrected a problem where DXMJ0MOD swaps to wrong stack causing
hang.
D4463 Corrected a problem where NCB.Status returns wrong LAN type for
Ethernet LAN.
2
D4509 Moved logic to reset flag indicating there are frames to loop back
to after looping back all the self-directed frames.
D5429 Fixed a problem with Etherstreamer for frames less than 60 bytes.
D5672 Fixed a datagram receive problem where a 0x00 return code was
returned to the application but a return code 0x06 (message incom-
plete) should have been returned to the application.
DXMC0MOD.SYS AND DXMC1MOD.SYS
P0000007 Corrected a intermittent problem that may happen when using an IBM
Token-Ring 16/4 Adapter /A short card.
DXMAID
IR22631 Corrected a DXMAID hang due to an incorrect line in PROTOCOL.INI.
LAN SUPPORT PROGRAM VERSION 1.35
Please refer to the READ.ME file on the Install diskette for a list of
enhancements in LAN Support Program Version 1.35.
DXME0MOD.SYS
LP01063 Fixed DXME0MOD.SYS to set the maximum number of data blocks across
the NDIS interface to 8 (the NDIS specification says 8 is the
minimum value for this field). This prevents transmits from failing
with a x'23' return code if an NDIS MAC driver incorrectly reports
that it supports less than 8 data blocks.
LP01064 Fixed DXME0MOD.SYS to work correctly with the Alt-Break key sequence
for PC/3270.
LP01065 Updated DXME0MOD.SYS to use the DOS function calls to set the timer
interrupt vector. This fixes a hang problem that occurs on some
ValuePoint machines when using RIPL with DXME0MOD.SYS.
LP01067 Updated the network status path in DXME0MOD.SYS. This corrects the
problem where subsequent network statuses are not reported when the
adapter is reopened after a network status causes the adapter to
close.
DXMJ0MOD.SYS
HS00531 Fixed compatibility problem between DXMJ0MOD.SYS and NV DM/2 TSR.
3
LAN SUPPORT PROGRAM VERSION 1.34
Please refer to the READ.ME file on the Install diskette for a list of
enhancements in LAN Support Program Version 1.34.
DXME0MOD.SYS
HS00520 Increased the maximum value of the MAX_I_FIELD parameter in the
DLC.OPEN.SAP command from 4,905 to 17,954. This change was to
support the maximum size frame that can be sent on a 16 mbps token-
ring network.
LAN SUPPORT PROGRAM VERSION 1.33
Please refer to the Local Area Network Support Program Version 1.33 User's
Guide or READ.ME file on the Install diskette for a list of enhancements in
LAN Support Program Version 1.33.
DXMC0MOD.SYS AND DXMC1MOD.SYS
HS00429 Corrected a problem that may happen when using an IBM Token-Ring
16/4 Adapter /A short card. The problem is that a DLC.CONNECT may
fail to complete if the connect is not successful.
Corrected a problem found when using NOVELL RIPL.
The extended DIR.STATUS table has been updated to support the NDIS
LLC Support flag.
DXME0MOD.SYS
LP01040 DXME0MOD.SYS was updated to set all interface flags in its lower
dispatch table. DXME0MOD.SYS was also updated to return a "FRAME
FORWARD" return code in all frames received.
LP01041 DXME0MOD.SYS was updated to support the X command line parameter.
This parameter forces the old Ethernet adapter type to be used for
Ethernet adapters. The X parameter is needed to be compatible with
applications running on Ethernet that look for the old Ethernet
adapter type (such as AS/400 PC Support Version 2, Release 2 and
earlier, and Netware's LANSUP.COM).
HS00437 DXME0MOD.SYS has been updated to NOT issue a ResetMAC to the MAC
driver on DIR.INITIALIZE. It has also been updated so that a
CloseAdapter request will not be issued to the MAC driver for
DIR.CLOSE.ADAPTER or DIR.INITIALIZE. This allows coexistence with
multiple NDIS Protocol Stacks.
HS00465 Corrected DIR.READ.LOG errors with IBM Token-Ring 16/4 Adapter II.
4
PL00123 DXME0MOD.SYS has changed the way it processes Network Status
changes to the application so that a status change of zero can be
handled correctly.
LP01049 DXME0MOD.SYS has been changed to fix the way InterruptRequests are
issued when using ODINSUP on Token-Ring.
Extended DIR.STATUS table has been updated to support the NDIS LLC
Support flag.
DXMG0MOD.SYS AND DXMG1MOD.SYS
Extended DIR.STATUS table has been updated to support the NDIS LLC
Support flag.
DXMT0MOD.SYS
LP01042 Corrected the problem where an NCB.HANGUP is issued immediately
after NCB.CALL and the NCB.HANGUP never completes.
LP01043 Corrected the problem where DXMT0MOD.SYS is loaded from a path con-
taining a period and the error message "DXMT0 06: Error reading
message file (DXM.MSG)" is displayed even though DXM.MSG is
present.
LP01045 Corrected the problem where a network error occurs that closes
adapter and pending NCBs never complete.
LP01050 Corrected errors when running with PiggyBack Ack on. The problem
will go away when the keyword PBA=0 is added to the DXMT0MOD
command line.
LP01051 Corrected the problem where an NCB.SEND is issued immediately after
NCB.CALL on very fast machines and the NCB.SEND does not complete
successfully.
LP01053 Corrected the problem where an NCB.RECEIVE completes with x'06'
return code, but the returned value in the NCB.LENGTH field is
smaller than the value of the NCB.LENGTH field when the command was
issued.
DXMAID.EXE
PL00105 Added a specific error message for DXMAID for not enough memory to
load the message file.
HS00383 DXMAID.EXE was updated to support NIFs with no parameters.
HS00456 DXMAID.EXE was corrected to treat CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT
without a terminating x'0D' or x'0A' properly.
