  22. In general - 1. Problems detecting and reporting network errors.

  25.                 and applications.

  27.              3. Accessing and using a server with IBM PCLP (PC LAN Program).
  28.  
  29.              4. Problems using COPY and XCOPY to the server.
  30.  
  31.              5. Sharing violations on SWAPPER.DAT with RIPL workstations
  32.                 (Remote IPL with SWAPPER.DAT on server).
  33.  
  34.              6. RIPL Workstations hanging during Remote IPL.
  35.  
  36. Specific -   1. Problems detecting and reporting hard errors on network
  37.                 drives.
  38.  
  39.              2. NETWKSTA and the WKSTA were fixed for problems associated
  40.                 with adapter lobe faults.
  41.  
  42.              3. The OS/2 2.0 API call DOSSetFileLocks was not included in
  43.                 the GA release of LS 2.0. Applications using the older 16
  44.                 bit API call DOSFileLocks and DOSFileIO were not affected.
  45.                 Applications issuing the 32 bit DOSSetFileLocks receive
  46.                 a return code of 174.
  47.  
  48.              4. Added code to handle FS_FILELOCKS but it will not accept
  49.                 atomic requests without the new SMB.  Also will not accept
  50.                 FS_CANCELLOCKREQUEST without the new SMB.
  51.  
  52.              5. Corrected problem with doing DOSOPEN on a named pipe
  53.                 connecting LAN systems or applications.
  54.  
  55.              6. Problems using COPY and XCOPY with PCLP servers.
  56.  
  57.              7. The "WRITE" command returning an error "6" when writes are
  58.                 attempted to a PCLP server.
  59.  
  60.              8. Corrects NET3126 errors occurring when accessing a PCLP
  61.                 server.

  63.              9. Corrects problem with Database applications receiving
  64.                 bad return codes and UNLOCK errors when redirected.

  66.             10. Corrects problem with COPY when a network resource has
  67.                 read and write permission but not "A" permission; resulting
  68.                 in error messages of "INCORRECT FUNCTION" and
  69.                 "0 files copied." Correct message is now generated, SYS0065
  70.                 "Network Access Denied".
  71.  
  72.             11. Problems re-establishing RIPL sessions due to incorrect file
  73.                 handles being connected to SWAPPER.DAT.
  74.  
  75.             12. Timeouts and retries during Remote IPL redesigned to prevent
  76.                 RIPL hangs.
  77.  
  78.             13. RIPL initialization changed to prevent RIPL hangs.
  79.  
  80.  
  81. CONTRADICTIONS: None known for OS/2 2.0. These fixes are for systems using
  82.                 the LS 2.0 LAN Server/Requester on either OS/2 2.0 or
  83.                 OS/2 1.3 with CSD 5050 applied. There are some 32 bit API
  84.                 modules and calls included or referenced in the OS/2 2.0
  85.                 specific modules.
  86.  
  87.                 Special care must be used by the installer to insure that
  88.                 the correct NETWKSTA module be installed, dependent on the
  89.                 OS/2 version.
  90.  
  91.                 This set of fixes should NOT be installed on any OS/2 1.3 EE
  92.                 system using the Extended Edition LAN Server/Requester.
  93.                 The LS13FX set of fixes should be used on any OS/2 1.3 EE
  94.                 systems that do not have LS 2.0 installed.
  95.  
  96. INSTALLATION ON OS/2 2.0 SYSTEMS:
  97.  
  98.   After downloading the fix to a temporary directory (C:\FIX in this
  99. example) and UNZIPping the file, perform the following steps:
  100.  
  101. 1. SHUTDOWN the system.
  102.  
  103. 2. Insert the OS/2 2.0 Installation diskette.
  104.  
  105. 3. Reboot
  106.  
  107. 4. Insert install system diskette #1 when prompted, press Enter.
  108.  
  109. 5. When the "Welcome to OS/2" screen appears, press Escape.
  110.  
  111. 6. When the command prompt appears, switch to the system drive
  112.    ("C:" in this example).
  113.  
  114. 7. CD C:\IBMLAN\NETPROG
  115.  
  116. 8. RENAME NETWKSTA.200 NETWKSTA.OLD
  117.  
  118. 9. COPY C:\FIX\NETWKSTA.200
  119.  
  120. 10. CD C:\RPL\IBMLAN\NETPROG
  121.  
  122.     If this directory does not exist (RIPL not
  123.     installed), skip to step 13.
  124.  
  125. 11. RENAME NETWKSTA.200 NETWKSTA.OLD
  126.  
  127. 12. COPY C:\FIX\NETWKSTA.200

  129. 13. CD C:\IBMLAN\SERVICES

  141. 19. Remove diskette and reboot with CTRL-ALT-DEL. Do NOT power off.
  142.  
  143. 20. After reboot, Edit the file C:\OS2\INSTALL\INSTALL.LOG.
  144.  
  145. 21. At the end of the file, add a line with:
  146.  
  147.   "IC03578, IC03862, IC03994, IC04026, IC04196, IC04290, IC04355, IC04356"
  148.  
  149. 22. Save the file and exit the editor.
  150.  
  151. 23. Repeat steps 1 to 22 for each server or requester system that has
  152.     OS/2 2.0 and LS 2.0 installed.
  153.  
  154.  
  155.   If the fix causes any new problems or unwanted side affects, repeat
  156. the above procedure but delete the new fix modules and RENAME the .OLD
  157. modules back to their original extensions; then reboot with CTRL-ALT-DEL.
  158.  
  159.  
  160. INSTALLATION ON OS/2 1.3 SYSTEMS:
  161.  
  162.   CSD WR05050 must be installed first. After the CSD is installed, download
  163. the fix to a temporary directory (C:\FIX in this example) and UNZIP the file,
  164. then perform the following steps:
  165.  
  166. 1. SHUTDOWN the system.
  167.  
  168. 2. Insert any OS/2 Installation diskette.
  169.  
  170. 3. Reboot
  171.  
  172. 4. Insert install system diskette #1 when prompted, press Enter.
  173.  
  174. 5. When the "Welcome to OS/2" screen appears, press Escape.
  175.
