  3.   Version 1, Fix Module Dates 5/4/94.

  5. This package contains all fixes for LD 1.1. The LD11PAT.ZIP
  6. file contains 4 zip files:
  7.  
  8. LD11ADV.ZIP  : LD 1.1 Advanced Connection Server Fixes.
  9. LD11ENT.ZIP  : LD 1.1 Entry Connection Server Fixes.
  10. LD11OS2R.ZIP : LD 1.1 OS/2 Remote Workstation Fixes.
  11. LD11WINR.ZIP : LD 1.1 Windows Remote Workstation Fixes.

  13. There is a .TXT file for each zip file which contains
  14. instructions on how to install the fixes and which APARs
  15. are fixed by the zip file. Please read the .TXT files
  16. carefully to see whether fixes are required on the remote
  17. workstation only, the connection server only or on the
  18. remote workstation and the connection server.

  20. Note that the LD11ADV.ZIP and LD11ENT.ZIP files are different
  21. and must be applied to the correct version of the connection
  22. server.

  26. THE FOLLOWING IS A SUMMARY OF FIXES PROVIDED IN THE PACKAGE.

  30.   SYMPTOMS:
  31.  
  32.   Callback from the connection server to the remote workstation
  33.   fails when automatic filtering has been enabled on the connection
  34.   server.

  36.   SOLUTION:
  37.  
  38.   LAN Distance has been changed to activate automatic filtering
  39.   in the callback sequence. For this problem, only the connection
  40.   server needs to be updated.

  45.   SYMPTOMS:

  47.   Support for X.25 native adapters
  48.  
  49.   SOLUTION:
  50.  
  51.   Changes where made to LAN Distance in order to support adpaters that
  52.   support native X.25. If this support is required, then the patch
  53.   needs to be applied to the connection server and the OS/2 remote
  54.   workstations using the X.25 native adapter.

  59.   SYMPTOMS:

  61.   Support for the IBM ISDN Primary Rate Adapter
  62.  
  63.   SOLUTION:

  65.   Support has been added to LAN distance to allow the use of the
  66.   ISDN Primary Rate Adapter.  This fix must be applied to all
  67.   workstations using the adapter, connection servers and remote
  68.   workstations.

  73.   SYMPTOMS:

  75.   Banyan Vines OS/2 client cannot connect to a Banyan server over
  76.   LAN Distance when the LAN is token ring.

  78.   SOLUTION:

  80.   The Banyan Vines protocol stack does not set the source address
  81.   field in the token ring frame. LAN Distance now fills in the
  82.   address.

  88.   SYMPTOMS:

  90.   Windows remote workstation receives blank screen, hangs or exits to
  91.   DOS when a LAN Distance connection is being established.

  93.   SOLUTION:

  95.   When a windows remote workstation connects to the connection server,
  96.   the windows workstation may get a blank screen, hang, or exit to
  97.   DOS. This problem occurs more frequently when there is not sufficient
  98.   filtering (automatic filtering not enabled at the connection server).
  99.   This problem occurs more frequently on Ethernet LANs.
