  113. This FixPak uses Corrective Service Facility (CSF) 2-B Version 1.44 (provided 
  114. in the tools directory of this FixPak) for installation. 
  115.  
  116. Complete instructions for the use of the updated SERVICE and FSERVICE commands 
  117. are provided with the CSF Version 2-B README.INF file on the FixTool Diskette. 
  118. Please read the CSF instructions for information on the use of CSF Version 2-B 
  119. backup and restore capabilities. You should also read the READ.ME file on the 
  120. FixTool diskette. It describes the new features included with Version 1.41 of 
  121. the FixTool.

  125. Installing the FixPak is essentially a three phase process: 
  126.  
  127. Phase 1 - Quiesce the Target System 
  128.             Stop all running applications so that LAN Server/Requester is not 
  129.             in use. (This includes doing a 'net stop server'). 
  130.  
  131. Phase 2 - Install the FixPak 
  132.             Use one of the following methods to replace system files with those 
  133.             provided on this FixPak: 
  134.             Selective Install 
  135.             Redirected (CID) Install 
  136.  
  137. Phase 3 - Return the Serviced System to Normal Operation 
  138.             Perform a normal system boot. 
  139.  
  140. Post Installation Procedures may be necessary to update Remote IPL images or 
  141. DOS LAN Requester clients.

  143. Note:   - If asked for permission to replace any files, respond Yes for hidden

  156. This method will apply fixes to selected subsystems, partitions, and 
  157. directories: The Corrective Service Facility will handle Locked Files 
  158. automatically so boot diskettes are not required before applying service.

  160.            1. At an OS/2 command prompt, perform a 'net stop server'. 
  161.            2. Insert Service Tool diskette in the A drive. 
  162.            3. At an OS/2 command prompt, type "A:SERVICE" and press Enter. 
  163.            4. Insert FixPak Diskette 1 when prompted. 
  164.            5. Follow the prompts to the CSF SERVICEABLE PRODUCTS panel. Review 
  165.               the serviceable products selected on the panel and deselect any 
  166.               products that you do not want to service at this time.  Then 
  167.               choose the SERVICE push button. 
  168.            6. Enter (optional) backup path then choose the OK push button. 
  169.            7. If the APPLICATION IN USE locked files panel is presented, choose 
  170.               CONTINUE. 
  171.            8. Follow prompts to complete the process. 
  172.            9. Remove the diskette from drive A:, then perform the system 
  173.               Shutdown procedure. 
  174.           10. Reboot the system normally.

  176.  When problems such as insufficient disk space are encountered when performing 
  177.  the Selective Install, use the Special Situation Install method to perform 
  178.  service.

  217. certain operations on fixed-disk, like installing this FixPak or running CHKDSK

  220. All necessary files must be contained on diskette.  Files from the fixed-disk 
  221. should not be referenced in A:\CONFIG.SYS or A:STARTUP.CMD. Otherwise Locked 
  222. Files can still exist on the fixed-disk.

  224. Should the need arise to boot from diskette for any reason, you may:
