  6. Current License holders may request ServicePaks in diskette media by
  7. contacting IBM Software Solution Services at 1-800-992-4777.
  8.  
  9. ServicePaks, and SelectPaks may usually be obtained via electronic
  10. media from the following sources.  The naming conventions for each
  11. Disk, or BBS may vary depending on their individual requirements.
  12. (SelectPaks are smaller and more component oriented then ServicePaks.
  13. SelectPaks are generally available only in electronic media)
  14.  
  15.      o OS/2 Bulletin Board Service (OS2BBS):  From the OS2BBS main
  16.        menu select Option three, Software Library.  Within Software
  17.        Library option two is for ServicePak and CSD packages. ( for
  18.        information on subscription rates  call 1-800-547-1283)

  20.      o IBM Personal Computer Company (PCC) BBS: Call 1-919-517-0001.
  21.        service packages are located in directory 4.

  23.      o CompuServe: Download service packages from IBM OS/2 FORUM
  24.        Library - GO IBMOS2 IBM DF2 Forum, then go to appropriate
  25.        section Database, Comm Manager, LAN Server.

  28.        /ps/products/lan, db2 etc..

  45. by virtue of installing any one of the following IBM products.

  49.     Communications Manager/2 1.0

  51. Extended Edition Corrective Service (WRxnnnn) no longer applies to these
  52. systems. Standard Edition Service (XRxnnnn) can be used to service the
  53. base operating system functions (Kernel, Presentation Manager, etc.).

  57. SERVICE FOR EXTENDED EDITION 1.3.

  59. WRx5200  Is a cumulative ServicePak that includes all fixes since EE.
  60.          The 1.3 ServicePak supersedes WRx5100 and WRx5150, as well
  61.          as all other previous CSD's.  A problem in Comm Mgr required
  62.          a change to the DOSCALLS.DLL and has been fixed by the APAR
  63.          APAR JR07074 and is available from L2, as well as the BBS's.
  64.          All NLV's are available and have the DOSCALLS fix included.

  66. SERVICE FOR STANDARD EDITION 1.3
  67.  
  68. XRx5150  Standard Edition fixes only.  Can cause Comm Mgr problems unless
  69.          the DOSCALLS.DLL fix (mentioned above) is applied. All NLV forms

  165.         will service all countries.

  170. SERVICE FOR LAN SERVER 3.0

  172. IPx7045 This is a Cumulative ServicePak for LS 3.0 and will pick up RIPL,
  173.         UPM, LS Requester and Server, NTS/2, DLR and LSP fixes.
  174.         IPx7045 is nearly equivalent of the Manufacturing Refresh 3.00.1
  175.         (IPx7040) with three more RIPL changes.
  176.         This ServicePak will supersede IPx7001, IPx7003, and IP07005.
  177.         NLV support is available for both EMEA and DBCS countries.
  178.  
  179. IPx7060 This is a Cumulative ServicePak for LS 3.0 and will pick up RIPL,
  180.         UPM, LS Requester and Server, NTS/2, DLR and LSP 1.38 fixes.
  181.         RIPL support has also been incorporated for the WARP ver3
  182.         (which enhances existing DOS and Windows), and WARP ver3
  183.         (which includes DOS and Windows application support).
  184.         This ServicePak will supersede IP07045 and will provide service
  185.         for LS 3.00.1 IP07040 Manufacturing Refresh.  U.S is now
  186.         available and NLV support is scheduled for both EMEA and DBCS
  187.         countries by late June 1995.

  190. NTS/2 NETWORK TRANSPORT SERVICES/2 and LAPS LAN ADAPTER and PROTOCOL
  191. SUPPORT (Combined package)
  192.  
  193. WRx7045 Service for NTS/2 and LAPS v2.20.1, This ServicePak/Refresh
  194.         will ship as a separate ServicePak, it also is shipped as
  195.         part of the ServicePak IPx7045 for LS 3.0, and supersedes
  196.         WRx7020.  This package includes all APARS included in the
  197.         NTS/2 LAPS refresh 2.20.1, plus four additional APARS.
  198.         Some of the BBS's may not package the IPx7045 and WRx7045
  199.         together.  Make certain that you have both packages before
  200.         applying IPx7045.
  201.         NLV support is available for both EMEA and DBCS countries.
  202.  
  203. WRx7060 This ServicePak will service LAPS V2.11 or higher for LAN
  204.         Adapter and Protocol support, and NTS/2.  For levels below
  205.         V2.11 WR07045 will need to be applied.  This diskettes for
  206.         this package can still be obtained from Boulder in diskette
  207.         media, plus should still be available electronically from
  208.         several sources.  The following versions of LAPS can be
  209.         serviced with this package;
  210.  
  211.           o LAPS V2.11, LAPS V2.20, LAPS V2.20.1, and LAPS V2.20.2.
  212.  
  213.         This package also includes a separately installable NTS/2
  214.         BonusPak.  This contains MAC drivers for OEM adapter cards,
  215.         new applets, an updated SRVIFS, and an upgraded CID install
  216.         utility.
  217.         This package will not be needed if the LS 3.0 ServicePak
  218.         IP07060 has been applied.

  222. IPx7050  This ServicePak is intended to service LAN Distance V1.1
  223.          Entry or Advanced Servers, and OS/2, or Windows Remote
  224.          Clients.  In addition to providing service it also added
  225.          support for X.25 Native Adapters, NetWare, IBM ISDN Primary
  226.          Rate Adapter Enablement, Banyan VINES Token Ring for OS/2
  227.          Remote Client,  Auto LANStreamer Adapters (Token Ring
  228.          Promiscuous Mode), and Enablement for Security User Exits.
  229.          Japanese versions, and limited EMEA versions are available.

  233. ServicePaks for Extended Services and LAN Services are now separate, as
  234. are the products themselves.  The OS/2 components, once included in
  235. CSDs, are no longer a part of the ES or LS ServicePaks.  The Database
  236. feature has evolved from the ES 1.0 into separate products of their own
  237. with DB2/2 and DDCS/2.  Communication Manager also has spun off on its
  238. own with the CM/2 Communication Manager product.

  240. Hence, the OS/2 extensions are beginning to depart from the historic CSD
  241. approach with the presumption that the Base Operating System function
  242. is available at the time service is applied.  Future service will evolve
  243. toward electronic distribution, media independence (ie. non-diskette),
  244. and remote service (CID installs).
