APAR: IC06187
Proper version of NTS/2 NETBIOS does not get copied in the /E:PREP environment
during CID installation.
NTS/2 CSD WR07020 introduced a problem during CID installations of a
maintenance environment. When installing NTS/2 (LAPS) within a maintenance
environment, the /E:PREP option is specified. This option installs NETBIOS
support in a temporary sub-directory. Installation of LAPS is successful,
however during IPL under the maintenance environment, NETBIOS fails to load
with the following error message:
The system cannot find the file netbios.os2.
The problem only occurs with NTS/2 CSD WR07020 and the fix module is
LAPSCID.DLL. This module is the same level as NTS/2 CSD WR07040.
The following directions indicate where to replace the module:
- On a system that already has LAPS installed, copy LAPSCID.DLL in the
\IBMCOM\DLL sub-directory.
- On a CID Server, copy LAPSCID.DLL in the \IBMCOM\DLL sub-directory off of
the LAPSDISK target sub-directory. LAPSDISK is an utility which copies
the LAPS disk image onto a CID server. For example, if LAPSDISK was executed
as follows:
LAPSDISK A:\ D:\CID\IMAGES\LAPS
A:\ indicates the source of the LAPS image and
D:\CID\IMAGES\LAPS indicates the target sub-directory for the LAPS disk image.
The fix module LAPSCID.DLL would be copied into the following sub-directory:
D:\CID\IMAGES\LAPS\IBMCOM\DLL
