  1. This package will send you the PMSPL.DLL replacement for OS/2 2.0 GA.           
  2.                                                                                 
  3. This fix allows you to net use any SMB resource on a LAN from a command         
  4. line.  For example:                                                             
  5.                                                                                 
  6.         1. {C:\} NET USE LPT2: \\PCLPSERV\laserjet                              
  7.                                                                                 
  8.         2. Drag a LOCAL Print object onto the desktop.                          
  9.                                                                                 
  10.         3. Define the right driver - in the above example it                    
  11.            would probably be the LASERJET.DRV (for an HPII).                    
  12.                                                                                 
  13.         4. Choose LPT2 as the assigned port.                                    
  14.                                                                                 
  15.         5. Save (close the settings dialogue) the changes.                      
  16.                                                                                 
  17. This will allow drag/drop to the PCLP printer.                                  
  18.                                                                                 
  19. Now to replace the DLL you have two choices:                                    
  20.                                                                                 
  21. 1.Receive the new DLL in C:\ (root)                                             
  22. 2.Shutdown and reboot with install diskette.                                    
  23. 3.At the prompt put diskette #1 in machine.                                     
  24. 4.At the first screen - press ESC to command prompt.                            
  25. 5.cd to C:\OS2\DLL                                                              
  26. 6.COPY PMSPL.DLL PMSPL.OLD                                                      
  27. 7.COPY C:\PMSPL.DLL                                                             
  28. 8.Reboot

  31. Choice #2:                                                                      
  32.                                                                                 
  33. 1. Receive PMSPL.DLL into the root directory.                                   
  34. 2. Edit config.sys to add '.;' to the beginning of the LIBPATH statement        
  35. 3. shutdown and reboot                                                          
  36. 4. From the command prompt REN C:\OS2\DLL\PMSPL.DLL C:\OS2\DLL\PMSPL.OLD
