  1. OS/2 2.0 GA (CSD Level 02000 ONLY) Fix
  2. New BVHSVGA.DLL File
  3. (as supplied by Bernie Thompson, IBM Boca, May 1, 1992)

  5. FIX HISTORY:
  6.    Problems with Western Digital PVGA1D based adapters:  Will trap after
  7. install, the first time you boot.  (BVSVHGA.DLL traps, and after install
  8. is the first time this is loaded).
  9. 4-21-92 /OS2/DLL/BVHSVGA.DLL  size: 22448 bytes

  11. To fix for the install trap:
  12. After installation (disk 15), when OS/2 is going to fully boot for the
  13. first time, boot up with the Install disk and Disk 1 instead of off the
  14. hard drive.  Then, hit (ESC) when the disk one prompts you to hit
  15. (ENTER) to continue.  You will be dumped to a command line.  Now copy
  16. over /OS2/DLL/BVHSVGA.DLL with this updated file.
  17. Reboot and you should be fine.

  19. [I have not tested this fix but believe it to work.  Please forward any
  20. problems with this fix to me at Internet address sip1@ellis.uchicago.edu
  21. and I will forward them to IBM Boca.  Report other problems, as always,
  22. directly to IBM.  CSDs -- Corrective Service Diskettes -- will incorpor-
  23. ate this fix, but this file can serve as a temporary workaround.
