  2.  
  3. Subject:  ServicePak for OS/2 Extended Edition 1.30, 1.30.1, and
  4. 1.30.2.
  5.  
  6. Memorandum to:  Licensees of OS/2 Extended Edition
  7.  
  8. Enclosed is the IBM OS/2 ServicePak you requested
  9.  
  10. This ServicePak is for all OS/2 Extended Edition 1.30 users. WR05200
  11. is accumulative and includes all fixes from WR05000, through WR05200
  12. including the Base, Database Manager, Communication Manager, and LAN
  13. Server / Requester components.
  14.  
  15. CAUTION: READ BEFORE APPLYING WR05200
  16.  
  17. Please read this entire portion before applying this corrective
  18. service.
  19.  
  20. WR05200 was created for users that were not yet at the corrective
  21. service level of WR05050 or above. It is essentially the same for
  22. users that are at a current level of WR05100, or WR05150, except for
  23. a few additional Communication Manager fixes.
  24.  
  25. If you are at a maintenance level of WR05016, WR05015 (1.30.1), or
  26. WR05000 it is recommended that you apply WR05200.
  27.  
  28. If your current operating is OS/2 1.30.1, or 1.30.2, and you received
  29. a replacement "Installation" diskette from IBM to install, please
  30. perform the following steps before applying this CSD:
  31.  
  32.     1.Copy your system *.BIO file from the replacement installation
  33.       diskette to CSD diskette one (* = name of system BIO file).
  34.  
  35.     2.Edit the ABIOS.SYS file on CSD diskette one and place the name
  36.       of your system *.BIO file as the first entry in the list.
  37.  
  38.     3.Resume normal CSD installation procedure.
  39.  
  40. CORRECTIVE SERVICE INFORMATION
  41.  
  42. The Corrective Service Facility (CSF), which is used to install the
  43. ServicePak, is enhanced to be a Presentation Manager (PM) application.
  44. To use CSF, insert diskette one into A: and enter "A:\SERVICE" from an
  45. OS/2 command prompt. Then follow the PM menus. An alternative method is
  46. to boot from diskette one. If you boot from diskette one, the ServicePak
  47. will be installed in default directories.

  49. The FIXES.TXT file can be reviewed for detailed information about what
  50. is fixed by this ServicePak.
  51.  
  52. This files can be displayed with the use of a text editor, or printed
  53. by inserting the last ServicePak diskette into Dive A:\ and entering the
  54. following command at an OS/2 command prompt.

  56.        PRINT A:FIXES.TXT
  57.  
  58. As a precaution retain previous IBM OS/2 corrective service diskettes,
  59. or private fixes that have been applied to your system.
  60.  
  61. To make copies of this ServicePak you must use the OS/2 DISKCOPY. See
  62. your User's Guide for instructions on how to use DISKCOPY.

  64. You may also be prompted to replace certain files that have a later
  65. date than the files on the ServicePak. It is recommended that you select
  66. "Yes" to replace these files.

  68. If problems are encountered during, or immediately after, installation
  69. of the IBM OS/2 Corrective Service Diskette(s), please contact the IBM
  70. Support Center through your normal support channel.
