One of the major annoyances of the WPS is that the only color for a
folder is this sickly yellowish color. Well, I like my desktop
colorful, so I created a bunch of colorful WPS icons. (actually, I
just took the one that comes with the WPS and colord it different
colors) You, being the fortunate person that you are, have
recieved a copy of the exact same folders that I made by hand. Be
thrilled, you've experienced one of the wonders of modern technology.
Well, you might ask, "What do I have to do to change MY folders to
different colors?" Well, I'll give you a procedural description, in
other words, I'll tell you:
1. Take the contents of this directory, and move it somewhere like
\OS2\ICONS (This is not a standard directory, you'll have to make one
if you don't have one) So, move everything that was in this zip-file
into that directory.
2. Right-click on the folder who's color you want to change. Select
Open->Settings.
3. Choose the "General" section of the notebook. Click on Find.
4. Click on Locate.
5. Select the "Path" part of the "Locate" notebook.
6. Type in the pathname of where your icons are. In our example, you
should type "c:\os2\icons"
7. Click on "Ok"
8. Click on "Find" in the "Find" window.
9. Wait for the disk. When the window pops up, click on the icon that you want to change to, click on "Ok"
10. You're done. Close the settings folder.
Now, as an exercise for the REXX efficianato, I would really like to
see someone write a REXX program that goes through all of this
automatically, so you can just type the source and destination names,
or something really neat like that. But, I don't know REXX very well,
so I'm not skilled enough to do this. Hopw you enjoy your new colored
folders.
