  1.     This port is an genuine hack.  A large number of small changes were
  2. made to the source.  The C compiler is more trustworthy than the C++
  3. compiler, but only because it's been running longer and has had a better
  4. workout.  Both compilers have been used successfully to generate PM and
  5. non-PM apps.  No attempt has been made at a complete self compilation.
  6. This port was done to see what changes had to be made and to gain experience
  7. for porting later versions.  A port of GCC/G++ 1.40 is under way.
