1.0 Overview
=============
This IBMKEYBD.EXE driver package provides you with IBM's most current support
for keyboard support on the OS/2 Operating System. This version of the IBM
keyboard driver is required if USB keyboard devices are to used on the system.
1.1 The IBMKEYBD.EXE file that you received contains the following 3 IBM
keyboard files in a self-extracting compressed format.
- README.TXT This file that you are reading
- KBDINST.EXE Executable that installs IBM keyboard driver support
- IBMKBD.SYS IBM Keyboard Driver
2.0 IBM Keyboard Installation Instructions
===========================================
2.1 To use this IBM keyboard driver, you must expand the IBMKEYBD.EXE file
into its 3 component files by
(a.) opening an OS/2 window and
(b.) typing IBMKEYBD at the OS/2 command prompt.
Once the IBMKEYBD.EXE file is expanded, please continue with the
IBM Keyboard Installation Instructions.
2.2 At the OS/2 command prompt, type IBMKINST. This command will:
(a.) Save the IBM keyboard device driver in the OS2\BOOT directory on the
Boot partition as IBMKBD.SAV.
(b.) Add the IBM keyboard device driver to the OS2\BOOT directory on the
Boot partition.
2.3 This completes the installation procedure. You must now REBOOT you system
to initialize the IBM keyboard device driver support.
3.0 IBM-Keyboard Un-Install Instructions
================================
3.1 Copy the original IBM Keyboard Driver that was save as IBMKBD.SAV during
installation procedure to IBMKBD.SYS to overwrite this version of
the IBM keyboard driver.
3.2 Safely shut down and then re-boot your system in order to re-load the
original IBM keyboard driver.
