  1. VISUALAGE C++ FOR OS/2, V3.0 - ORDERING INFORMATION

  4. | Modified 7/16/95 to add documentation information, IBM ordering phone
  5. | numbers, and Service & Support details. Some other clarifications and
  6. | cosmetic changes have been made, based on customer suggestions,
  7. | including Canadian pricing.

  9. General Information
  10. -------------------
  11. Things to know:
  12.   1. Regular upgrades apply to users who have C Set ++ V2.0 or V2.1. Use the
  13. |    30H1681, 1682, 1683 part numbers, depending on the medium you want.
  14.      Users of C Set/2 or WorkSet/2 (the old V1.0 product) can also upgrade,
  15.      Using the promotional part numbers 30H1775, 1776, or 1777. Remember this
  16. |    V1.0 upgrade offer has an expiry date!
  17.   2. There will be no V3.0 of FirstStep. Current users of FirstStep may
  18.      upgrade to VA C++ at a special price (see below).
  19.   3. For bona fide students, there is an academic price for VA C++. The
  20.      academic offering is NOT available from IBM, only from campus stores
  21.      and other special academic outlets. Pricing is determined by the
  22.      outlet; part numbers are given below.
  23.   4. Users of a competitive product now have an upgrade to VA C++ at an
  24.      attractive price. See below.
  25.   5. The documentation groups have been renamed. Group 1 becomes Standard
  26.      Manuals, Group 2 is now called Extended Manuals. The manuals are no
  27. |    longer sold singly. Details of what's in which group are in this file.
  28.   6. The will be a V3 of the ICLUI (now Open Class) Source Code product. It
  29.      will not be available until 9/95. There is NO upgrade for the Source
  30.      Code product for users of the previous version.
  31.   7. If you want more copies of VA C++ but don't particularly want to buy
  32.      the physical boxes, Additional Licenses are available, and are cheaper
  33.      than buying another physical copy.
  34. | 8. The "Volume Packs", n physical boxes shipped together, are no longer
  35.      available.
  36. | 9. SRP is Suggested Retail Price. Dealers usually sell for less. US and
  37. |    Canadian prices are given. Outside North America, contact IBM for price
  38. |    details.

  120.   - Both the Standard and Extended manuals are available in SOFTCOPY in
  121.     ALL versions of the product.
  122.   - The +doc option means you get the Standard Manuals in hardcopy
  123.   - We don't ship the Extended Manuals with any version of the product. They
  124.     always come softcopy, and if required in hardcopy, must be ordered
  125.     separately.
  126.   - The CD option has only softcopy doc, no hardcopy at all. That's why it's
  127.     always cheaper.
  128.   Plus ..
  129.   The .INF and .BOO (BookManager) files can be accessed from the CD-ROM, i.e.
  130.   not installed to the hard drive, to save space.
