  4.     Defects fixed with this release:

  6.     General:
  7.  
  8.         1.  IBM Search Manager/2 product would not display contents of
  9.             search folder results with Object Desktop installed.
  10.  
  11.         2.  Performance has been improved in icon cache lookup,
  12.             resulting in better response times with HyperDrive feature
  13.             of Enhanced Folder and Object Navigator, and for displaying
  14.             icons in the Object Archives objects.
  15.  
  16.         3.  HyperDrive now uses proper icon for Workplace Shell data
  17.             file subclass instances with a custom default class icon.
  18.  
  19.         4.  Dragging non Workplace Shell objects from some applications
  20.             (such as WebExplorer) onto Object Desktop object's view
  21.             windows could cause an internal but non-fatal trap.
  22.             Affected objects are: Object Archive, Keyboard LaunchPad,
  23.             Object Navigator (Fast Path), Control Center, and Tab
  24.             LaunchPad.

  26.         5.  OS/2 Warp Create Utility Disks program (BOOTDISK.EXE)
  27.             would fail before formatting floppy when Object Desktop
  28.             is installed.

  30.         6.  Seamless Windows applications now display proper icon
  31.             in the Tab LaunchPad Tasks tab, the Control Center,
  32.             and the Task Manager Enhanced Window List and Alt+Tab
  33.             Task Switcher.

  35.         7.  Switching to a minimized folder from the Task Manager,
  36.             the Tasks Tab of the Tab LaunchPad or from the Keyboard
  37.             LaunchPad would not cause the minimized folder to be
  38.             viewed.

  42.         8.  Selecting multiple items with Ctrl+ mouse selection in
  43.             Window List with Enhanced Task Manager turned on would
  44.             previously not select items completely.

  46.         9.  Window List would not always appear when invoked via
  47.             Ctrl+Esc from PM application windows that did not have a
  48.             Task List item set for the top-level window.

  50.         10. Performance improvement for displaying of task list.

  52.     Object Archive:

  54.         11. Elements displayed in subcomponents (subfolders) of an
  55.             Object Archive were not always selectable.

  57.         12. If multiple object archives were open with contained
  58.             elements viewed and one archive was closed (of the same
  59.             type), objects could remain cross-hatched in the
  60.             remaining object archive views.

  62.         13. Window position was previously stored for each archive
  63.             view but not properly restored at all times.

  65.         14. Deleting an object archive while a view of the archive
  66.             was currently open would cause a condition where a
  67.             background worker thread would never shut down.

  69.     Keyboard LaunchPad:

  71.         15. The Keyboard LaunchPad window initialization code is now on
  72.             a thread to keep the user interface from hanging while
  73.             opening the definitions view.

  75.     Object Navigator:

  77.         16. A trap would occur in the Object Navigator if non-disk
  78.             objects were created/moved in the Drives object folder.

  80.         17. The Object Navigator is no longer a target object listed in
  81.             the Workplace Shell Copy/Move/Create Shadow/Create Another
  82.             dialogs. Instead, the folder currently displayed in the view
  83.             is listed in the target dialogs.

  85.         18. A slight offset of the current folder displayed in the tree
  86.             view of the Object Navigator has been corrected when system
  87.             is running in 1024x768 resolution or greater.

  89.         19. Performance improvement displaying folder contents.

  91.     Control Center:

  93.         20. The Control Center displays drives over 1 Gig now as a
  94.             fraction of the size (eg. 3.5G).

  96.         21. Optimized repaints of virtual desktop to minimize system
  97.             cycles taken.  When window activation is detected, a 1/2
  98.             second delay is used to keep from taking CPU away from
  99.             seamless windows applications that startup and use
  100.             multimedia on startup.

  102.         22. Network drives and other drive types can now be added as
  103.             sections even when they are not available.
  104.  
  105.         23. Changed Control Center default priority (used during
  106.             installation) to match documentation (default=Normal).
  107.  
  108.         24. Dropping multiple objects onto a browser object inside the
  109.             Control Center when in accept drop mode would cause multiple
  110.             drop events to occur.  This caused multiple confirmation
  111.             dialogs to appear for dropping objects onto the shredder,
  112.             for example.

  114.         25. Dropping multiple objects onto a virtual desktop pane inside
  115.             the Control Center would not open all objects, just the
  116.             first one.

  118.         26. The Control Center is no longer a target object listed in
  119.             the Workplace Shell Copy/Move/Create Shadow/Create Another
  120.             dialogs.

  122.     Tab LaunchPad:

  124.         27. The Tab LaunchPad icons may now be rearranged using
  125.             drag/drop operations within the top-level tab as per
  126.             documentation.

  128.         28. Tab LaunchPad would previously not respect task list filter
  129.             set by Object Desktop Task Manager.

  131.         29. Tab LaunchPad could trap internally during bootup when a
  132.             large number of objects were restarted by the shell,
  133.             possibly causing a system hang.

  135.         30. At times during startup, the Tab LaunchPad would show icons
  136.             displayed 1/2 off vertically.

  138.         31. The Tab LaunchPad is no longer a target object listed in the
  139.             Workplace Shell Copy/Move/Create Shadow/Create Another
  140.             dialogs.

  142.         32. Task buttons within the Tab LaunchPad now display context
  143.             menus corresponding to which window controls are available
  144.             (ie. Move,Size,Close,etc.)

  152.     1.  Possible window deadlock could occur causing system instability
  153.         during paint thread in Control Center with some seamless windows
  154.         applications.

  156.     2.  HyperCache thread priority boosted to eliminate possible boot
  157.         problems.
  158.  
  159.     3.  IBM Tutorial window corruption occurred.
  160.  
  161.     4.  Conflict resolved with other Workplace Shell products that
  162.         necessitated installing either/or products due to some features
  163.         missing with Object Desktop.  Examples: Deskman/2, Workplace
  164.         Security.
  165.  
  166.     5.  Object Archives would show the wrong icon for contained objects
  167.         when the temporary folder (set by "SET TMP=, SET TEMP=, or the
  168.         <WP_NOWHERE> folder") for a system has an open view on the
  169.         desktop.
  170.  
  171.     6.  When using marquee selection (drawing a box on the background to
  172.         select objects) on an Enhanced Folder, drawing corruption would
  173.         occur on the edges of "raised" or "sunken" view styles.

  175.     7.  Installation utility (not included with FixKit) has been updated
  176.         to fix selective Uninstall defect where all objects were
  177.         disabled after subsequent reboot.

  179.     8.  Level of code should set to v1.01 in Help->About.

  181.     9.  Tab LaunchPad object title hints will no longer move (usability
  182.         defect).

  187.     Defects fixed with this release:

  189.     1.  Seamless Windows dialogs no longer have title bar corruption
  190.         when moved.

  192.     2.  Setting default icon of a folder to point to a folder inside the
  193.         OS/2 templates folder will no longer cause the desktop to appear
  194.         as a "folder" window.
  195.  
  196.     3.  Control Center hangs with Windows seamless sessions have been
  197.         resolved.
  198.  
  199.     4.  Control Center can now monitor remove and removeable drives.
  200.  
  201.     5.  Control Center will not "shift" all windows from one virtual
  202.         desktop to another when switching desktops (was sporadic).
  203.  
  204.     6.  Contol Center would try to retrieve some windows that had
  205.         a very small size (<= 10x10), when these are really "hidden"
  206.         windows.
