  7.  OBERON SOFTWARE RELEASES TE/2 VERSION 1.31

  9.  November 1, 1995, Mankato, MN - Oberon Software announced today it will
  10.  begin shipping the latest release of its flagship OS/2 telecommunications
  11.  program TE/2 on November 6, 1995.  TE/2 (The Oberon Terminal Emulator/2)
  12.  is one of the most popular and most mature OS/2 based modem programs in
  13.  the market today.

  15.  Oberon Software is excited to announce that, in addition to several new
  16.  features in TE/2 1.31, anyone who purchases this release of TE/2 will also
  17.  receive instructions for obtaining a free, pre-release copy of its
  18.  upcoming TE/2 Pro! Version 2.  TE/2 Pro! is a 32-bit, Workplace Shell
  19.  version of TE/2; TE/2 1.31 users may obtain their copy electronically
  20.  immediately.

  22.  In addition to long-standing TE/2 features such as robust, high-speed
  23.  telecommunications support, seven terminal emulation modes, fast,
  24.  reliable file transfer protocols, and extensive REXX scripting
  25.  capabilities, new features for TE/2 1.31 include:

  27.     TCP/IP socket support now included automatically.  TE/2 1.31 is
  28.      capable of using your installed TCP/IP protocol stack to act as a
  29.      Telnet client.  Previously an extra cost add-on, this feature is now
  30.      part of the standard package.

  32.     New setup options and script commands for control of TE/2 startup,
  33.      execution, status line display, and ASCII file transfers.

  37.     Support for 115,200 and higher bps rates!  You are no longer
  38.      restricted to a maximum baud rate of 57,600 if you have a modem
  39.      capable of higher speeds!

  41.     Completely reprogrammable keyboard.  TE/2 1.31 allows you to
  42.      reassign any function key or character key on your keyboard to
  43.      perform any of TE/2's functions!  You can store multiple keyboard
  44.      setups and recall them at will.

  46.     Multimedia support.  Using OS/2's native MMOS2 multimedia support,
  47.      sounds can be attached to various events in TE/2 such as file
  48.      transfer beginning and endings, call completion, errors, and user
  49.      defined events.
