  1. IBM DCE BETA PROGRAM SIGNUP IS EXTENDED

  5. OVERVIEW
  6.  
  7. IBM is extending the signup period for the current beta programs for
  8. IBM DCE for OS/2 (R) and WINDOWS* to new participants to July 09,1993.
  9. This is an extension to the advertised beta signup closure date of
  10. May 28, 1993.  The beta code license expiration date of August 31, 1993
  11. is unchanged.

  13. DESCRIPTION
  14.  
  15. IBM internals, customer software developers, and independent software
  16. vendors can continue to order the beta program for either DCE for OS/2
  17. or DCE Client for WINDOWS. Function in the beta program enables software
  18. developers to gain experience with core Distributed Computing Environ-
  19. ment (DCE) technologies, licensed from the Open Software Foundation*.
  20. The code in this beta program should NOT be used in production.

  22. ORDERING INSTRUCTIONS
  23.  
  24. The DCE for OS/2 beta has both a hardcopy package of diskettes with
  25. publications or a no-charge electronic package available.  An informa-
  26. tion document with ordering instructions can be obtained as follows:

  28. * On IBM's VM network, type "REQUEST DSSINFO FROM DCEREQ AT AUSVM1".
  29. * On CompuServe, access DCE.TXT in the OS2DF2 forum DCE library.
  30. * On IBM's OS2BBS, go to the OS/2 Software Library, then select the
  31.   DSSINF document in the OS/2 Documents and Information section.

  33. The DCE Client for WINDOWS beta has only a no-charge electronic package
  34. available. An information document with ordering instructions can be
  35. obtained as follows:
