  28. Inc. (MDI) introduces the Express-Writer, an affordable, recordable
  29. compact  disc  system  that allows users to easily  create  compact
  30. discs  within minutes.  The Express-Writer is actually three drives
  31. in one:  As a recorder, the Express-Writer allows you to write your
  32. own  master discs which can be easily read, stored, duplicated, and
  33. transported.   As  a double-speed player, Express-Writer  can  read
  34. virtually any CD.  As a backup device, the Express-Writer  supplies
  35. a  reliable, fast, and affordable alternative to tape drives.  This
  36. is the premier CD-R solution for OS/2 environments.

  38. With  its double speed capability, the Express-Writer can record  a
  39. disc  to  its  full capacity in about 30 minutes.  Express-Writer's
  40. built-in,  very large 1 MB cache buffer helps prevent  interruption
  41. of   the  data  flow,  which  can  result  in  ruined  discs.   Its
  42. multisession capability allows you to add data as you go or all  at
  43. one time.

  46. OS/2  environments, offers a premastering utility featuring drag-n-
  47. drop  object  manipulation. This software provides  the  choice  of
  48. arranging data in either ISO 9660 format or non-ISO 9660 customized
  49. naming.  Once the information is stored, the ISO 9660  CDs  can  be
  50. read  by  any  operating system that supports the ISO 9660  format,
  51. offering  flexibility  for  environments  with  multiple  operating
  52. system  platforms. By first creating a virtual image on  your  hard
  53. disk,   SCSI  Express-Writer software allows you  to  add,  modify,
  54. delete,  and position files on the hard disc before you  commit  to
  55. the  CD-R master disc.  MDI offers bundled solutions which  include
  56. the Express-Writer, one GB or two GB hard disk, SCSI Express-Writer
  57. software  for  OS/2,  and  a starter set  of  twenty-five  writable
  58. compact discs.
