AUDIENCE: Technical coordinators and other customer support personnel
using and supporting DOS emulators, IBM SEs and dealers.
IBM SKILL LVL: 3, 4, 5.
As the availability of OS/2 2.0 approaches, users are asking if Personal
Communications/3270 (PC/3270) can be run in the DOS and Windows boxes of
OS/2. This program will provide insight into IBM's DOS emulator direc-
tion and strategy and a view of how users might migrate to OS/2.
Key features and functions of PC/3270 will be discussed including the
product structure; that is, the modules and components of the product
such as Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) working with SNA and
non-SNA networks, TQDOS and the PC/3270 Multitasking Supervisor. This
information could be helpful in problem determination procedures. We
will also discuss recent Corrective Service Diskettes.
The program will address how PC/3270 can be installed and configured
under OS/2 2.0, including a demonstration. A question and answer
session will conclude the broadcast.
Material for this program is prepared and presented by personnel from
IBM technical support and development functions.
