ICSS Developer's Program Change in Terms and Conditions
3/18/93
IBM is pleased to announce a new single-license offering for its
Continuous Speech Series software at the reduced price of $699.
IBM announces revised terms and conditions for its
Continuous Speech Series Developer's Program. In addition to the
multi-license offering at a membership price of $3,995, we are
announcing a single system, single-license offering at a price
of $699. This includes the same level of service and support
as previously announced and the beta level code which is
comprised of a developers toolkit and runtime system. A high
quality, super-cardioid, noise cancelling, unidirectional microphone
is also provided. Membership applications can be obtained by calling
1-800-627-8363.
The IBM Continuous Speech Series (ICSS) Developers Toolkit and
Runtime System to develop and execute speech enabled applications,
was a finalist in Byte Magazine's Best of COMDEX, Fall '92 contest.
ICSS is a speaker independent, continuous speech, 1000 word active
(20,000 word expandable dictionary) developers toolkit
for the development of speech enabled applications and speech aware
applications. Speech enabled and speech aware applications may
enhance the use of a keyboard, augment the use of a touch-screen
and provide application availability in hands busy, eyes busy
environments such as kiosk applications.
Created for both OS/2 and AIX stand-alone environments, the
IBM Continuous Speech Series is available immediately for the
above stated offerings.
A lower cost program will be offered using a less costly
microphone. This program will be available at the membership
price of $299 on or about April 9, 1993. Applications for program
membership will be accepted immediately with software and
membership information shipping on or about April 9, 1993.
