  4. IBM is pleased to announce a new single-license offering for its
  5. Continuous Speech Series software at the reduced price of $699.
  6.  
  7. IBM announces revised terms and conditions for its
  8. Continuous Speech Series Developer's Program. In addition to the
  9. multi-license offering at a membership price of $3,995, we are
  10. announcing a single system, single-license offering at a price
  11. of $699.  This includes the same level of service and support
  12. as previously announced and the beta level code which is
  13. comprised of a developers toolkit and runtime system. A high
  14. quality, super-cardioid, noise cancelling, unidirectional microphone
  15. is also provided. Membership applications can be obtained by calling
  16. 1-800-627-8363.

  18. The IBM Continuous Speech Series (ICSS) Developers Toolkit and
  19. Runtime System to develop and execute speech enabled applications,
  20. was a finalist in Byte Magazine's Best of COMDEX, Fall '92 contest.
  21. ICSS is a speaker independent, continuous speech, 1000 word active
  22. (20,000 word expandable dictionary) developers toolkit
  23. for the development of speech enabled applications and speech aware
  24. applications. Speech enabled and speech aware applications may
  25. enhance the use of a keyboard, augment the use of a touch-screen
  26. and provide application availability in hands busy, eyes busy
  27. environments such as kiosk applications.

  29. Created for both OS/2 and AIX stand-alone environments, the
  30. IBM Continuous Speech Series is available immediately for the
  31. above stated offerings.

  33. A lower cost program will be offered using a less costly
  34. microphone.  This program will be available at the membership
  35. price of $299 on or about April 9, 1993. Applications for program
  36. membership will be accepted immediately with software and
  37. membership information shipping on or about April 9, 1993.
