  19. In recognition of customers' need for well-planned and reliable
  20. rollouts of their solutions, IBM is extending service and support for
  21. OS/2 (R) Warp 4 and the OS/2 Warp Server family until December 31,
  22. 2000.  This action will enable you to better manage the introduction
  23. of version upgrades, new technology, and Year 2000 readiness into
  24. your environments.
  25.  
  26. In addition to the extension of service, IBM is simplifying the terms
  27. and conditions associated with access to the OS/2 Warp Server
  28. Version 4 family.  Effective January 1, 1998, the purchase of an
  29. OS/2 Warp 4 license will allow you to access the chargeable services
  30. of the OS/2 Warp Server Version 4 family at no additional charge.
  31.  
  32. Customer service and support, detailed in the documentation for the
  33. following products, is extended until December 31, 2000.

  35. o  OS/2 Warp Server, Version 4
  36. o  OS/2 Warp Server Advanced, Version 4
  37. o  OS/2 Warp Server Advanced, Version 4 with SMP Feature
  38. o  OS/2 Warp Server FirstStep
  39. For a detailed listing of the program product part numbers affected
  40. by the service extension, refer to the OS/2 Warp 4 and OS/2 Warp
  41. Server Family Product Listing in the Description section.

  43. Terms and conditions for OS/2 Warp 4 change on January 1, 1998.  Each
  44. OS/2 Warp 4 license acquired on or after January 1, 1998, includes
  45. the right to access the chargeable services of any OS/2 Warp Server,
  46. Version 4 or OS/2 Warp Server Advanced, Version 4 in your enterprise
  47. from the OS/2 Warp 4 licensed workstation.

  49. OS/2 Warp 4 licenses acquired before January 1, 1998, do not include
  50. no-charge access to OS/2 Warp Server.  You must purchase an OS/2 Warp
  51. Server Use-Based Feature when using an OS/2 Warp 4 licensed
  52. workstation to access the chargeable services of OS/2 Warp Server if
  53. the OS/2 Warp 4 license was purchased before January 1, 1998.
