  27. New packaging for BookManager(R) workstation READ products has
  28. simplified ordering and added flexibility.  You can now order the
  29. READ workstation products by providing a single number for each
  30. regardless of the operating platform or required languages.
  31. Distributed on CD-ROM or electronically downloaded from the Internet,
  32. the package contains translations for all languages supported.

  34. BookManager READ is a member of the BookManager family used to build
  35. and read softcopy publications.

  37. The BookManager READ package contains the following products:

  69. its powerful easy-to-use search feature, your readers can be in touch
  70. with the information they need in a matter of seconds.

  72. BookManager READ puts power in the hands of the reader.  A
  73. BookManager book is a single file that includes all text and graphics
  74. in a highly compressed format.  Built using any of the BookManager
  75. BUILD products, it can be read using any of the BookManager READ or
  76. BookServer products.

  78. BookManager READ allows your readers to view books on either the
  79. Windows, OS/2, or DOS platform.  Each product offers patented
  80. linguistic-based searches, hypertext links, creation and viewing of
  81. margin notes, placing bookmarks, and grouping books into bookshelves.

  97. files are shipped with the files.

  205. BookManager workstation READ products are distributed on CD-ROM or
  206. they can be downloaded from the Internet.  Product information on
  207. BookManager products as well as ordering information and downloading
  208. links are available on the BookManager Home Page.  The Uniform
  209. Resource Locator (URL) for the BookManager home page is
  210. http://booksrv2.raleigh.ibm.com, one of several entry points for
  211. BookManager products.

  213. Hypertext fields on the home page include links for product and
  214. ordering information.  When ordering information is selected, the
  215. Product Download WWW Server will give you instructions on how to
  216. unpack and execute the Electronic Showcase tool.  If you have not
  217. previously run Electronic Showcase or CD Showcase(TM), you will be
  218. asked to specify your country so that the following product
  219. information can be presented in a suitable language:

  231. To obtain the decryption key, contact IBM Direct.

  233. Prior to purchasing a key, the product license agreement is
  234. displayed.  The user must accept the license agreement.  They then
  235. enter their customer number and key, and click on the Save button to
  236. save the key and unlock the product.  Once the key has been saved the
  237. user must press the copy button in Electronic Showcase to copy and
  238. decrypt the product files onto the user's hard drive.  The product
  239. files consist of a packed file containing the product and a README
  240. file containing instructions on how to install the product.

  242. For customers who have an existing IBM account on file, IBM will
  243. process an order following normal ordering instructions and credit
  244. verification.  The decryption key will be distributed after order
  245. processing.  For those customers who do not have customer information
  246. on file with IBM, IBM will process the customer information and, upon
  247. completion of the processing, issue the decryption key.
