  34. wer kann mir sagen, ob man die Capi's Version 1.1 und

  73. directories...these are empty !!  Although one has a text file
  74. referring to drivers for OS/2 from 1997.   Very disappointing.   So I
  75. will look at a Teles card.

  90. After despairing of any other way to get higher speed than 28,800 out here
  91. in the country, I opted today for Shaw's Cable Modem service. They came in
  92. this morning at 7:00 AM and were all done by 9:00. Of course, all they
  93. know anything about is Microsloth stuff, so they installed it on the Win
  94. 95 partition. And after they left, I set up Eudora so at least I had email
  95. filtering on that account.

  97. Since I don't care much for Microsoft, and would like to be Microsoft free
  98. at some point, now I want to install whatever is necessary to get my
  99. system working under OS/2.
  100.  
  101. I'm running Warp V4 FP 11 without any known problems. I only have dial up
  102. networking installed. Can anyone recommend a site to give me blow by blow
  103. instructions on how to make it all work?

  136. Who, Eicon? The drivers are available from their WWW site, for the
  137. Diva at least.

  167. Shaw Cable - a good choice, been on it a year and had good service
  168. even though they don't know OS/2. However that said they have always
  169. been responsive on the 'help desk' and had at least one person who
  170. was familiar with OS/2 several months back.

  172. Basically get your NICs setup and configured in MPTS then go to
  173. TCP/IP Configuration Notebook to enter your account numbers Shaw gave
  174. you on page 3 -Hostnames. Select Enable Interface and Automatically
  175. Using DHCP on the first page and that should connect you but here are

  208. Teles dropped OS/2 for years now :-(
  209. they only support windows and let users make their own support for linux...
  210. the only os/2-capi at teles is for the no longer existing isa non-pnp cards,
  211. in
  212. german only, and they're some years old now. The latest for elsa are from last
  213. year, same as for windows...

  322. Is the Maxtech a jumperless PnP modem? If so, are you sure it's actually on 
  323. com3, 3e8, and irq5? Even if it by default set itself up on com3 and 3e8, it's 
  324.  
  325. quite likely to have set itself up on some odd irq, like 9 or above.

  327. Conversely, I don't remember whether fixpacks as early as 5 for Warp 3 had the

  329. updated com.sys driver that allowed modem baud rates above 57600. If your 
  330. modem really is where your com.sys statement says it is, you may be trying to 
  331. run it at a rate of 115200 bps, which would be too fast for the older com.sys 
  332. driver.

  334. Try setting your speed down to 57600. If this works, then you know you'll 
  335. need a zippier com driver. Either from a more current fixpack, or, if 
  336. fixpacking is not desirable, then by installing ver. 1.60d of the shareware 
  337. SIO drivers, available at HOBBES.
