Well, although their ftp site has OS/2 folders in some
directories...these are empty !! Although one has a text file
referring to drivers for OS/2 from 1997. Very disappointing. So I
will look at a Teles card.

Subj: What do I need to do to get Wave Cable Modem working on OS/2 side?
From: rsmits@curmudgeon.bc.ca
Hi.
After despairing of any other way to get higher speed than 28,800 out here
in the country, I opted today for Shaw's Cable Modem service. They came in
this morning at 7:00 AM and were all done by 9:00. Of course, all they
know anything about is Microsloth stuff, so they installed it on the Win
95 partition. And after they left, I set up Eudora so at least I had email
filtering on that account.
Since I don't care much for Microsoft, and would like to be Microsoft free
at some point, now I want to install whatever is necessary to get my
system working under OS/2.
I'm running Warp V4 FP 11 without any known problems. I only have dial up
networking installed. Can anyone recommend a site to give me blow by blow
instructions on how to make it all work?
Thanks, Bob.

Who, Eicon? The drivers are available from their WWW site, for the
Diva at least.

Hi Bob
Shaw Cable - a good choice, been on it a year and had good service
even though they don't know OS/2. However that said they have always
been responsive on the 'help desk' and had at least one person who
was familiar with OS/2 several months back.
Basically get your NICs setup and configured in MPTS then go to
TCP/IP Configuration Notebook to enter your account numbers Shaw gave
you on page 3 -Hostnames. Select Enable Interface and Automatically
Using DHCP on the first page and that should connect you but here are
some URLs

Oups..... teles... for os/2?
DON'T!
really!
Teles dropped OS/2 for years now :-(
they only support windows and let users make their own support for linux...
the only os/2-capi at teles is for the no longer existing isa non-pnp cards,
in
german only, and they're some years old now. The latest for elsa are from last
year, same as for windows...

Subj: Warp v3.0 does not find modem
From: Dan Spisak/Marcia Trial <dspisak@ccnet.com>
I have a MaxTech 33.6 internal modem and I am running Warp v3.0 with
fixpak 5 and PPP installed. I have modified CONFIG.SYS to add
(3,03E8,5) after c:\....\com.sys. The "dial" procedure always stops at
"cannot connect to slattach" (slattach 2.0). Now what do I do? Thank
you in advance.

Subj: Re: Warp v3.0 does not find modem
From: klcroxen@fas.harvard.edu (Kevin Croxen)
Is the Maxtech a jumperless PnP modem? If so, are you sure it's actually on
com3, 3e8, and irq5? Even if it by default set itself up on com3 and 3e8, it's
quite likely to have set itself up on some odd irq, like 9 or above.
Conversely, I don't remember whether fixpacks as early as 5 for Warp 3 had the
updated com.sys driver that allowed modem baud rates above 57600. If your
modem really is where your com.sys statement says it is, you may be trying to
run it at a rate of 115200 bps, which would be too fast for the older com.sys
driver.
Try setting your speed down to 57600. If this works, then you know you'll
need a zippier com driver. Either from a more current fixpack, or, if
fixpacking is not desirable, then by installing ver. 1.60d of the shareware
SIO drivers, available at HOBBES.
