  20. Probably IBM is working on that, because the VACPP 4.0 documentation says
  21. about "dld" as an OS2 target... Check for the target directive for icc files.

  97. set. It is B&W

  122. I created an Instance of the class WPINSTALL in my desktop (the one
  123. that uses Feature Installer plugin, and that installed products
  124. generated in the directory (C:\OS2\INSTALL\Installed Features). The
  125. objects in this directory are read only, and can deinstall part or
  126. products entirely.

  129. each page of the settings notebook, and it has three additional options
  130. in th popup menu: "Package", "Response file> save" and "Response
  131. file>Read". When I choose Package, and the information in the setting
  132. in OK, it generates part of the files required by "Feature Installer".

  134. Where can I obtain the Feature Installer Toolkit, because the help say
  135. that it exist:

  221. I've just had to reinstall my entire system (version 4.0), damn I
  222. was depressed, it was only a year and a half old!
  223. Well....I added FP12, and now I find that I am unable to install
  224. Borland C++ 2.0 on my system.
  225.  
  226. An error Dialog-box jumps up, everytime I try to launch the
  227. install procesure (Click on the install button) saying "Error:
  228. Invalid Path or Directory", every time!
  229. No matter what I do!
  230.  
  231. Is it the FP12 or is it me screwing up????

  287. This has come up before - check deja.com for details.  AFAIK, IBM
  288. has never released the Toolkit nor licensed the runtime package
  289. (which you have) for use in creating new packages.  I wouldn't use
  290. it for commercial or shareware products without first contacting IBM.

  319. program, because of the many problems it causes!
  320. The space infected folder name results in something like "ERROR
  321. Reading files: E:\Temp\FILEINFO.INI"
  322.

  369. Recently I tried again and they refuse to make it public. Talk about 
  370. tunnelvision.

  474. A couple of application have a problem if the archive bit is set on a
  475. directory.  It never got set before FP11, now it can occur.  Perhaps this
  476. is your problem.  Try clearing the archive bit on all directories and see
  477. if that helps.

  516. Thanks, but I tried it (a total sweep on my system partition and
  517. applications partition and also the Install From folder)!
  518. It was totally ignored by install! "Error:Invalid Path or
  519. Directory"
  520.  
  521. OS/2 Directory, Base Directory and Install From seems to be
  522. correct!
  523.  
  524. Yesterday I tried to get GCC to work properly!
  525. Got EMX working properly (had an old emx.dll in path)!
  526. GCC worked perfectly, until I corrected the paths to the
  527. helpfiles and removed "SET GCCOPT=-PIPE" in config.sys!
  528. I rebooted and gcc refused to work..ok...reinstate "SET
  529. GCCOPT=-PIPE" and reboot...nope I am now also unable to get GCC
  530. to work. It just stalls and awaits the blade of my processkiller!

  554. I've got MKS Lex/Yacc and got my parser working... to a point. If the 
  555. data file is very large (<3000 lines), I'm getting state stack 
  556. overflow errors. I can't find anything in the manual about this 
  557. problem except as an example. In the O'Reilly book, it say the grammar
  558. should be simplified. So I reduced the number of states from 209 to 
  559. 170. However, I get the same error on the same line and same token 
  560. again.

  562. MKS doesn't seem to have any help for their product on their web site 
  563. so it seems I'm out of luck there. Would using another lex/yacc tool 
  564. correct this problem or is this soley a grammar issue?

  614. Get bison/flex from an OS/2 GNU archive. yacc/lex have hardcoded internal
  615. table limits.

  621. You *can* write grammars that will exhaust any state space, and you can
  622. also arrange grammars in a way that produce larger state spaces than
  623. neccessary
  624. or exhaust the state stack (keyword: tail-recursion), but what you encounter
  625. is basically a limitation of standard yacc.

  661. I just changed the c:\os2 to c: in "OS/2 Directory"
  662. And it installed!
  663. Weird, according to the help for "OS/2 Directory" it should be
  664. both drive-letter and directory!

  690. spend the extra money to buy the source code disk.  ISBN 1-56884-337-2.
  691. Blake Watson, who wrote the book is a pretty nice guy who will ansewer emails
  692. about the book as well.
