BALANCED SYSTEMS AND CAPACITY PLANNING
Resources, in a balanced system, are not independent variables in
determining system performance. The inter-relationship of
processing power, I/O capability and the processor storage size
determine system performance and along with performance
objectives, the capacity. This publication examines the factors
involved in processor and I/O performance and inter-relationship.
What do I expect from these resources? How does the performance of
one affect the other? And how can one size requirements?

IBM 6611 NETWORK PROCESSOR INSTALL GUIDE
The purpose of this guide is to assist those responsible for
installing a network of IBM 6611 Network Processors. The examples
are directly applicable to a small network (2 or 3 routers) or to
the prototype or trial installation for a larger network. This
guide is oriented for first time installers of the 6611's,
although many of the tips, hints, and traces should be of interest
to experienced users.
