LANtastic(R) for OS/2(R)
LANtastic for OS/2 software
Networking OS/2-based workstations just got simpler with the introduction
of LANtastic for OS/2. As the world leader in peer-to-peer networks for DOS
and Windows(TM), LANtastic opens the door to sharing files and printers
with minimal expense and maximum flexibility. LANtastic for OS/2 is a
32-bit, multitasking, multithreaded network operating system that supports
Named Pipes and HPFS and FAT file systems. With a familiar interface,
LANtastic for OS/2 allows you to take full advantage of the power of OS/2.
It features tight security and strong management features--placing full
network control at your fingertips--installs quickly, and is easy to use
and maintain.
LANtastic for OS/2 offers strong cross-platform capabilities: It connects
to Simply LANtastic(TM) and LANtastic v5.0 and 6.0 DOS and Windows stations,
and CorStream(TM) server. SMB protocol support provides connectivity to
Microsoft(R) Windows NT(TM), LAN Manager, IBM(R) LAN Server and other
SMB-based servers. It coexists with Novell(R) NetWare Requester(TM) for
OS/2 clients and LAN Server clients, making it possible for each PC to
be on multiple networks at once.
Peers and servers
The LANtastic peer/server network lets workstations share each other's
resources. A peer is a workstation that also functions as a server,
sharing its disk drives, printers, CD-ROM drives and other resources with
other computers in the office. For even more powerful database and
accounting applications, add a 32-bit Artisoft CorStream dedicated server
to your network. As a true peer-to-peer network for OS/2, LANtastic for
OS/2 brings power and versatility to a powerful 32-bit platform.
