  16. We give three-hour presentations on OS/2 three times a week. (Hey, it's our
  17. job, man). Some things we like to do....
  18.  
  19. 1) Always do two things at once. While you're showing applications format
  20. disks, download the CIS weather map (later you can copy it into an app),
  21. compile a program, print long documents or many pages. I *real* neat one is to
  22. install a program while you're demonstrating OS/2.

  24. 2) Create a file with an HPFS name. I use "Can you save an HPFS file to a
  25. disketteand share it with DOS?" Show it on the desktop. Copy it to a diskette.
  26. Open the A; drive object and show the long filename. Open a DOS window and
  27. show the truncated name.

  29. 3) Copy text from a DOS program. Paste it into another DOS program, a Windows
  30. program, and an OS/2 program.

  32. 4) Use CPU Monitor Plus and kill the Workplace Shell while applications are
  33. running.

  35. 5) Show WPS integration with Relish or cc:Mail. Both are excellent examples of
  36. using WPS. I can give details if you'd like.

  38. 6) Show DOS settings, then open a DOS window and show changing settings on the
  39. fly.

  41. 7) Start a game that uses a sound card, like King's Quest, Let it run while
  42. you do something else. Or just play an audio CD while you're working.

  44. A big don't ... Don't start Lotus applications in front of people. If you
  45. intend to show them, start the apps before you start your demonstration. They
  46. are all very slow to open and do not show OS/2 to its best. (Note: This is
  47. supposed to be fixed in a Feb. service pack.)
