thanx for d/l'ing my _5TH_ picture in my ongoing POWER OS/2 series of
backgrounds! after a long hiatis (and now recent unemployment), i have
picked up where i left off and am continuing my journey..
SHORT DESCRIPTION: this is a pic from my own idea of a guy blasting off
into space holding an OS/2 box..
LONG DESCRIPTION: uhg! this was tougher than i originally planned. it took
2 full days to create, and is composed of 4 different
composed images. believe it or not, the halo on the earth
was the toughest! i don't know why, i just had a hard time
with it, and am still not satisfied.. the human form i
already had scanned in from my recent purchase of a Digimax
3D Digitizer (the form is of Ice-Man from my local wal-mart).
[sure looks better than my first attempt at an arm, remember?]
so i slapped some gold sunglassed on him and went with it..
anyway, i rendered the earth w/ clouds and halo against a
starfield.. i then rendered Warper (original name, huh?) with
his path over that.. before anyone asks, no, i'm not from
Germany or wherever that path is originating.. it just
ended up that way.. anyway, i added a lens flare and called
it quits.. but i noticed the upper right area was kinda
dead.. so i added a satellite (note that farmiliar logo in
the dishes).. i know its a crappy one, but i had no picture
to go by, and when you have to actually make one, your mind
draws a blank.. so i composed that over the others, and
whammo! a cool pic..
COPYRIGHT: THIS PICTURE IS COPYRIGHTED TO ME.. ANY ALTERATIONS ARE PROHIBITED,
EXCEPT FOR RESIZING. i have had many requests to include my pics in
books, magazines, and on CD-Roms, of which i have always granted
permission.. i need the publicity!
PERSONAL NOTE: thanx to all who have mailed me on my past pics! remember, i'm
a freelance computer animator.. i usually make money doing this,
but when i have slack time i don't mind utilizing the power of
3D Studio and OS/2 for some nice win-killing pics! also, many
have asked what i actually use for a background.. believe it or
not, i have no background! i use os/2 in command-line mode only.
i need to save all the memory i can for 3DS.. kinda ironic, huh?
as always, e-mail me if you like it, e-mail me if you don't,
e-mail me if you have any ideas..
