  1. Welcome to UPS Monitor for OS/2.

  4. I N T R O D U C T I O N
  5.  
  6. UPS Monitor is designed for the
  7. smart signaling APC UPS models
  8. Back-UPS Pro and Smart-UPS.
  9. UPS Monitor is designed for
  10. cable number 940-0095A and
  11. 940-0024B or C (shown
  12. on the cable connector). Consult
  13. your UPS manual to find out if
  14. your UPS uses smart signaling.
  15.  
  16. UPS Monitor is also available for
  17. the simple signaling APC models
  18. Back-UPS and Back-UPS Office and
  19. contact closure UPS made by
  20. Tripplite and others. Please see

  25. I N S T A L L A T I O N
  26.  
  27. Note: If you run Warp 4, fixpack 10
  28.       and Object REXX, you must switch
  29.       to classic REXX to install UPS
  30.       Monitor. After installation, you
  31.       can switch back to Object REXX.
  32.  
  33.       Starting with version 1.2, a new
  34.       installation script is used. Copy
  35.       the file UPSMONS.INI over to the new
  36.       directory. Any previous installation
  37.       of UPS Monitor may then be removed
  38.       by following the uninstallation
  39.       instructions of that particular
  40.       version.
  41.  
  42.   To get started with UPS Monitor quickly,
  43.   please do the following:
  44.  
  45.   1. Install UPS Monitor
  46.  
  47.      - Unzip the program archive into a
  48.        separate, temporary directory,
  49.        with the name UPSMINST for example.
  50.        That directory MUST be separate
  51.        from the final directory (UPSMON
  52.        by default).
  53.  
  54.      - Open an OS/2 command prompt, change
  55.        to the drive and directory where
  56.        you put the UPS Monitor files and
  57.        run UPSMINST.EXE
  58.  
  59.      - The self-extracting installation
  60.        program will put a folder with all
  61.        the UPS Monitor program objects
  62.        onto your desktop. Simply follow the
  63.        prompts given. A reboot after
  64.        installation is NOT required.
  65.  
  66.      - Copy UPSMONS.INI from the previous
  67.        version over to the new UPS Monitor.

  69.   2. Run UPS Monitor by double-clicking on
  70.      the UPS Monitor icon. To display help,
  71.      simply press F1 anywhere inside the
  72.      program.

  78. Run UNINSTAL.CMD inside the UPS Monitor folder
  79. which will completely remove all UPS Monitor
  80. files and objects from your system. No reboot
  81. is required.
