PM VIDEO V1.3
PM VIDEO shows under OS/2 from version 2.0 onwards
- the current screen resolution
- the number of colors
- the vertical refresh rate
in a PM window.
Format:
pixel horizontal x pixel vertical x colors x refresh rate
The vertical refresh rate (in Hz) means, how many pictures
are displayed on the monitor per second.
The absence of flicker depends on who is judging it.
But you can take this as a rule:
refresh rate < 60 Hz : bad
" > 70 Hz : good
In interlace mode PM Video shows the number of
half-pictures per second.
On some graphics cards the vertical refresh rate cannot
be measured. PM Video indicates this by "??" or "???".
The measurements are repeated every 8 seconds.
If the CPU is not too much loaded by other processes,
the accuracy should be approximately +/- 1 Hz.
You're authorized to make copies and distribute PM Video provided that no fee
is charged for use, copying or distribution beyond reasonable handling
costs, no modifications are made and this license is not removed.
