  6. What is Xact?
  7.  
  8. Xact is a tool for data acquisition and manipulation, data
  9. analysis and graphical presentation. The integrated graphics
  10. editor can also be used as a stand-alone vector graphics editor.
  11.  
  12. Although Xact is a very powerful and therefore complex tool,
  13. you will quickly notice its easy and efficent user interface.
  14. The current version of Xact is a direct result of a 5-year
  15. cooperation with a large number of users, mainly from the
  16. technical or scientific sector. Thus, Xact now offers a broad
  17. range of chart types with a vast number of proven options.
  18. One of the unique capabilities of Xact is the
  19. capability to manipulate each single object of the chart
  20. individually if desired. This gives you complete control over
  21. the appearance of your chart.

  24. By practical usabiliy, we understand a combination of an easy
  25. user interface, a large feature set, and precise and reliable
  26. operation.

  101. To install the demo version, please put the demo disk in a
  102. disk drive and start the install program INSTALL.EXE. The
  103. install program will further quide you through the install
  104. process.

  106. Restrictions of the demo version:

  108. The demo version is identical to the retail version, with
  109. the following exceptions:
  110. - You cannot save or print documents.
  111. - You cannot export graphics or tables.
  112. - You cannot use the clipboard to paste data into other
  113.   programs. Pasting *from* other programs, however, is
  114.   supported.
