ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Help for Pen for OS/2 Installation Options ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
You can accept the default installation, or you can select or deselect one of
the choices by placing your mouse pointer over a check box or radio button and
then pressing mouse button 1.
Once you have made your selection, press OK to continue.
Pen for OS/2
Select this choice to install the Pen for OS/2 software on your
system.
Pen device driver
Select this choice to install support for a pen device driver. Pen
for OS/2 must already be installed on your system.
ReadMe
Select this choice to display the ReadMe file. This file contains
important installation information you should view prior to
installing Pen for OS/2 and pen device drivers.
Update CONFIG.SYS
Select Pen for OS/2 automatically updates if you want changes made to
your CONFIG.SYS automatically. Select You will update if you wish to
make changes to the CONFIG.SYS yourself.
To successfully install Pen for OS/2, the CONFIG.SYS file must be
updated. By default, Pen for OS/2 will automatically update this
file during the installation.
If, however, you select CONFIG.SYS - You will update, instead of the
system automatically updating your CONFIG.SYS file, it creates an
updated version of your CONFIG.SYS file in the root directory called
CONFIGCH.XXX. After Pen for OS/2 is installed, you must replace your
existing CONFIG.SYS file with this file, or update your existing
CONFIG.SYS file to include the required statements.
To exit the Pen for OS/2 installation program, select Exit.

Use this panel to change where on your system the Pen for OS/2 software is
installed, or you can accept the defaults by selecting Install. If you select
Cancel, you return to the Pen for OS/2 Installation Options panel without
performing the installation.
For a detailed explanation of each field, select on one of the following:
o Source drive
o Target drive
o Code to install
o Space available

Use the Source fields to change the location that the Pen for OS/2 software is
installed from.
Drive
This field contains the default drive that is active when the Pen for
OS/2 installation is started. To change the drive, scroll through
the list of valid drive letters, and then select the one you want.
Directory
This field contains the directory Pen for OS/2 is installed from. To
change the directory, scroll through the list, and then select the
one you want by double-clicking on it.
Path
This field contains the path Pen for OS/2 is installed from. To
change the default path, type a valid path directly into the path
window.

Use the Target fields to change the location that the Pen for OS/2 software is
installed to.
Drive
This field contains the drive that you want the Pen for OS/2 software
to install to. To change the drive, scroll through the list of valid
drive letters, and then select the one you want.
Directory
This field contains the directory Pen for OS/2 is installed to. To
change the directory, scroll through the list of directories, and
then select the one you want by double-clicking on it. The Install,
Help, and Dll subdirectories are created below the directory you
specify.
Path
This field contains the path Pen for OS/2 is installed to, which is
\PEN. To change the default path, type a valid path directly into
the path window.
Note: The target cannot be on the LAN. The Installation program only
installs the Pen for OS/2 software to your hard file.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Help for Code to Install ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This field displays the amount of space needed to install the Pen for OS/2
software. The target drive is checked to ensure that there is enough space to
install all the files. If there is not enough space, a warning message is
displayed. You then have the option of continuing or stopping the installation
now.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 6. Help for Space Available ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This field displays the amount of space that is available on the target disk.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7. Help for Pen for OS/2 - CONFIGCH.SYS Changed ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Your CONFIG.SYS file was updated with Pen for OS/2 software information.
Restart your system by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del for the changes to take effect.
Select OK to continue the installation.

You must either update your CONFIG.SYS with the changes reflected in the
CONFIGCH.xxx file, or replace your existing CONFIG.SYS with this file before
the Pen for OS/2 software will function properly. Restart your computer by
pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del for the changes to take effect.
Note: The CONFIG.xxx file was placed in the root directory of your startup
drive.

Use the Source fields to change the location that the pen device driver is
installed from.
Drive
This field contains the default drive that is active when the pen

Use this panel to specify the pen device you want to install support for, and
to indicate the target drive, directory and path the pen device driver should
be copied to.
Pen device
This field displays the names of the devices that can be installed
from the source drive.
Drive
This field contains the drive that you want the Pen Device Driver to
install to. To change the drive, scroll through the list of valid
drive letters, and then select the one you want by double-clicking on
it.
Directory
This field contains the directory the Pen Device Driver is installed
to. To change the directory, scroll through the list of directories,
and then select the one you want by double-clicking on it.
Path
This field contains the path the pen device driver is installed to.
To change the default path, type a valid path directly into the path
window.
Code to install
This field displays the amount of space needed to install the pen
device driver. The target drive is checked to ensure that there is

Pen for OS/2 Toolkit
Select this choice to install the Pen for OS/2 Toolkit on your
system.
ReadMe
Select this choice to display the Pen for OS/2 Toolkit ReadMe file.
This file contains important installation information you should view
prior to installing the Pen for OS/2 Toolkit.
Update CONFIG.SYS
If you choose not to select this option, the installation program
creates a file CONFIGCH.xxx (where xxx is a number beginning with
001) with all the required statements, and places it in the root of
the startup drive. You must then copy the suggested changes in this
file to your CONFIG.SYS file for the software to function properly.
To exit the Pen for OS/2 Toolkit installation now, select Exit.

Use this panel to change where on your system the Pen for OS/2 Toolkit is

This field contains the path the Pen for OS/2 Toolkit is installed
to, which is \TLKTPPM. To change the default path, type a valid path
directly into the path window.
Note: The target cannot be on the LAN. The Installation program only
installs the Pen for OS/2 Toolkit to your hard file.
