ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. About Sample ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Named pipe application is the client end of a sample application of named
pipes for communication between unrelated processes.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. File Menu ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The File menu contains the command that you use to start the tic-tac-toe game.
In addition, it also contains the command that you use to exit the Sample
application. The following commands appear in the File menu:
Start Game Starts a game of tic-tac-toe
Exit Quits the Sample application
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. Start Game ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
You start the tic-tac-toe game by using the Start Game command. To start the
game, do the following:
1. Select the File menu and choose the Start Game command.
2. Answer Yes or No when asked if you would like to move first.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. Exit ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
You quit the Sample application by using the Exit command. To quit the Sample
application, do the following:
1. Select the File menu and choose the Exit command.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Option Menu ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Option menu contains commands that you use to manipulate the display of the
tic-tac-toe board. The following commands appear in the File menu:
Swap Pieces. Switches X's and O's.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 6. Clear ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
You can switch your playing pieces between X's and O's, but you still control
the same squares.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7. Help Menu ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 12. About Box Dialog ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This dialog displays information about the application, such as version
number and copyright notice.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 13. Ok ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The Ok button closes the Product Information box.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 14. Remote Server Dialog ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This dialog is for the entry of a remote server's name, for play over a LAN.
Select Cancel for local play.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 15. Server Name ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This field is for the entry of a remote server to connect to. The server name
can be at maximum 8 characters in length.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 16. Ok ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This button completes the selection of the server entered in the Server Entry
Field.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 17. Cancel ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This button cancels the selection of any remote server and play is begun
locally.
