ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Introduction ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This Presentation Manager Application was written by Abbotsbury Software Ltd.
to support the use of the Hauppage Computer Works Inc. Celebrity TV card under
the IBM OS/2 Warp v3 operating system.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Remote Control ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
To select the TV/2 remote control panel you must select the left mouse button
whilst the remote pointer is being displayed (in the TV/2 screen). Once this
button has been selected a dialogue box is opened which contains the controls
which allow you to change various settings. The settings which are changeable
are : -
Channel
Left Volume
Right Volume
Treble
Bass
Brightness
Hue
Saturation
Contrast
Source
Mute
Freeze
On/Off
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.1. Channel ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The channel number is set by selecting one of the up or down arrows either
side of the entry field (see below). The frequency of the channel is dependent
on the region selected (see Advanced features).

The left volume level is changeable by using the slider marked with the
following bitmap to the right : -

The right volume level is changeable by using the slider marked with the
following bitmap to the right : -

The treble level is changeable by using the slider marked with the following
bitmap to the right : -

The bass level is changeable by using the slider marked with the following
bitmap to the right : -

The hue level is changeable by using the slider marked with the following
bitmap to the right : -

The saturation level is changeable by using the slider marked with the
following bitmap to the right : -

The contrast level is changeable by using the slider marked with the following
bitmap to the right : -

To select the source for the application you choose one of the four buttons
marked 1, 2, 3, 4 or select the colour bars test card by selecting the button
with the following bitmap : -
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.11. Mute ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
To mute the sound from within the TV/2 application you must press the button
containing a speaker as follows : -
When you press the button it will change state to being pressed and the bitmap
changes to represent mute : -
To unmute press the button again to return it to its former state.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.12. Freeze ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
To freeze the image from within the TV/2 application you must press the button
containing the blue bitmap as follows : -
When you press the button it will change state to being pressed and the bitmap
changes to white instead of blue. To unfreeze the TV image press the button
again to return it to its former state.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2.13. On/Off ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
To switch the TV image off from within the TV/2 application you must press the
button containing the green bitmap : -
When you press the button it will change state to being unpressed and the
bitmap changes to represent off : -
To switch the TV image back on press the button again to return it to its
former state.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. File Menu ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
To display the file menu for TV/2 you must select the right mouse button
whilst the remote pointer is being displayed (in the TV/2 screen). Then select
'File'. The menu contains the following options : -
Quit
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3.1. Quit ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This option allows you to choose whether to quit the application.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. Advanced Menu ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
To display the advanced menu for TV/2 you must select the right mouse button
whilst the remote pointer is being displayed (in the TV/2 screen) then select
'Advanced'.
Please note these options allow you to change hardware settings. This should
not be undertaken unless you know what hardware settings you are changing and
why.
The menu contains the following options : -

ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.1. Reset ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This option resets the Hauppage hardware to their default settings.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.2. Advanced ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This option opens a dialogue box which allows you to view and to set the
Hauppage hardware settings directly. To set the values in entry fields, select
the field, make the change, and then press return, the change will take effect
immediately. The OK button allows you to close the dialogue when finished.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.3. Output display ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This option opens a dialogue box which allows you to view and change the
current settings for the viewport and display window. When you have entered the
values you wish then press the SET button to set them. Choose CANCEL to close
the dialogue without setting the values.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.4. Zoom and scale ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This option opens a dialogue box which allows you to view and change the
current settings for the zoom facilities and scaling facilities. When you have
entered the values you wish then press the SET button to set them. Choose
CANCEL to close the dialogue without setting the values.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.5. Smart lock ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This option opens a dialogue box which allows you to view and change the
current settings for the smart lock facilities. When you have entered the
values you wish then press the SET button to set them. Choose CANCEL to close
the dialogue without setting the values.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.6. Video ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This option opens a dialogue box which allows you to view and change the
current settings for the video configuration. When you have entered the values
you wish then press the SET button to set them. Choose CANCEL to close the
dialogue without setting the values.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.7. Memory ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This option opens a dialogue box which allows you to view and change the
current settings for the memory configuration. When you have entered a value
you wish then press return to set it. Press the to close the dialogue.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.8. Capture ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This option opens a dialogue box which allows you to view and change the
current settings for the capture and acquisition configurations. When you have
entered a value you wish then press return to set it. Press the OK button to
close the dialogue.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.9. ISA ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This option opens a dialogue box which allows you to view and change the
current settings for the ISA configuration. Press the OK button to close the
dialogue.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.10. VGA ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This option opens a dialogue box which allows you to view and change the
current settings for the VGA configuration. Press the OK button to close the
dialogue.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.11. Output processing ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This option opens a dialogue box which allows you to view and change the
current settings for the output processing registers. Press the OK button to
close the dialogue.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.12. Tune ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This option opens a dialogue box which allows you to view the current tuner
region and frequency. There is also a slider bar to adjust fine tuning. It is
best to change the region at program startup or the wrong channel number will
be displayed in the remote control. To select the region just select the
appropriate radio button.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4.13. Digitizer ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This option opens a dialogue box which allows you to view and change the
current settings for the registers in the BT812. Press the OK button to close
the dialogue.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Capture ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
To capture an image from TV/2 you must select the both the mouse buttons
whilst the remote pointer is being displayed (in the TV/2 screen). When a
capture is made a dialogue box is opened (if not opened already) in which a
bitmap is displayed of the image captured.
N.B.
1) If the TV/2 main window is resized then the capture dialogue if open
should be closed as this does not resize with the main window at present.
2) No image saving facilities are currently present.
