  3. What's new in SNIPPETS Jul 97 edition?

  7. General stuff:

  10. This is, for the most part, a maintenance release to correct some bugs which
  11. crept into the November, '96 release. Two new major initiatives have been
  12. added to SNIPPETS, however. Read all about them in the new LIBRARYS.NFO and
  13. STUDENTS.NFO files!
  14.  
  15. The process of adding more C++ code continues. Although high-quality free C++
  16. code is still scarce, I collect the best of these and include them in
  17. SNIPPETS.

  20. New stuff:

  23. You'll notice a lot of new pieces in the math function section, including
  24. additionl BCD math functions, and new packages for statistic, trig, parity
  25. calculation, and logarithmic scaling. A new entry in the pi computation to
  26. ridiculous extremes has also been added, with more to come! Finally, an
  27. improved drop-in function for converting to roman numerals has replaced the
  28. old stand-alone program. A complementary function has been added to convert
  29. from roman numerals to long integers, should anyone need such a thing.

  31. Continuing the expanded emphasis on SNIPPETS as an educational resource, Auke
  32. Reitsma has contributed a demo program for his excellent linked-list package.
  33. I also added a .MAN file to explain the usage of my getopts_lite() function.
  34. From Peter Yard comes a full-featured double-ended queue package.
