  3. Beginning with the July, 1997 release of SNIPPETS, precompiled libraries of
  4. SNIPPETS functions will be available for many popular PC compilers. The
  5. naming convention of the precompiled library files is:

  17. The library archives (designated with an "L" in the 4th character position)
  18. will contain precompiled libraries for all memory models, including both real
  19. mode and 32-bit models.
  20.  
  21. The development kit archives (designated with an "K" in the 4th character
  22. position) will contain only the compiler-specific makefile and batch files
  23. necessary to build your own precompiled libraries. Obviously, the development
  24. kit archives will be much smaller than the complete library archives.
  25.  
  26. Both the library and development kit archives will become available shortly
  27. after the release of SNIP9707. They will be available at the snippets.org ftp
  28. and web sites as well as all other official SNIPPETS distribution sites.
