============= < Shareware License Agreement > ==============
Permission is granted to any individual or institution to
use, copy, or redistribute this software so long as all of
the original files are included unmodified, that it is not
sold for profit, and that this copyright notice is retained.
No registration is required for this version and there is
no shareware fee required. If you decide that you need
support, documentation or additional features provided in
the Professional Edition, this can be purchased using the
provided order mechanism.
========================= < Usage > ========================
You can use Prominare Lite as a replacement for the
OS/2 Dialog Box Editor. If you want to just use it to
edit your resources with, make sure that you turn off the
Source code files option when you create a new design.
To use Prominare Lite with your existing projects, you
should create a new design or use the Import resources
option from the Prominare Designer Startup dialogue. Then
select your existing .RES or .RC file and import them.
Prominare Lite will then record internally the full
resource information for all of the resources and you can
then edit them from there.
If you have Internet access you can download the tutorial
as a postscript file, using.zip, from the following
anonymous FTP:
gold.interlog.com:/pub/prominare
Also contained within the FTP area is a file containing the
PM Control Extension (PMCX) controls postscript file.
PMCX.PS file can be printed on a postscript printer.
===================== < WPOS Support > =====================
WPOS support is currently provided on a beta basis. The
import, extraction and resource save facilities are based
on beta information. These areas are not completed yet and
are provided here on a "AS IS" basis. Updates to the .DLLs
will be provided either through CompuServe or through
the Prominare anonymous FTP:
gold.interlog.com:/pub/prominare
or from OS2AVEN forum Other Vendors library.
=============== < Pen for OS/2 1.1 Support > ===============
Pen for OS/2 1.1 support is currently provided on a beta
basis. Even though the programming interface for the pen
api's are complete, the full beta has not been released
yet by IBM. When it is released, you should be able to
use the pen support provided.
====================== < Known Bugs > ======================
OS/2 2.1
--------
This version of the software has been tested using both
OS/2 2.1 beta and final release. A few system bugs that
affected the usage of the Prominare Lite have
been taken into consideration. Also, the new version has
been compiled with the newer IBM C Set++ for OS/2 compiler
which eliminated some exception handling problems. Future
versions of the software will provide additional exception
handling through the compiler libraries as them become
available by IBM.
There appears to be a bug within the OS/2 2.1 PostScript
printer driver where dialogues or windows printed from
within Prominare Lite will appear printed in reverse
shades of gray. When printed under OS/2 2.0, the
dialogue or window is printed correctly. The workaround to
this problem is to select the printer object on your
desktop, open the settings notebook and select the Queue
options tab and then select the Printer-specific format
check box. If you can get a newer release of the
PostScript printer driver (Version 21.393 or higher) the
problem will have been corrected within that driver.
Another problem that has been discovered within OS/2 2.1
is that there are situations when system error popup
dialogue will be displayed, like when you do not have
a CD within the CD-ROM drive or a diskette in Drive A:.
The applications would normally have a return code issued
by the system in which a message would be displayed to
inform you that there is a problem. This occurs properly
under OS/2 2.0. Under OS/2 2.1, the system popup may be
displayed, then after you have taken corrective action like
inserting the CD in the drive, the return code will be
returned to the application and then the message that should
have been displayed is displayed.
OS/2 2.11
---------
This version of the software has been tested on OS/2 2.11.
There is a very serious internal bug within OS/2 when you
have selected the CD-ROM, started an application from it and
then change the CD-ROM with a new one and then select the
drive. You will probably get a TRAP 000d system hang.
Another problem that has been discovered within OS/2 2.11
is that there are situations when system error popup
dialogue will be displayed, like when you do not have
a CD within the CD-ROM drive or a diskette in Drive A:.
The applications would normally have a return code issued
by the system in which a message would be displayed to
inform you that there is a problem. This occurs properly
under OS/2 2.0. Under OS/2 2.1 and 2.11, the system popup may be
displayed, then after you have taken corrective action like
inserting the CD in the drive, the return code will be
returned to the application and then the message that should
have been displayed is displayed.
Warp Version 3
--------------
This version of the Prominare Lite has been tested
completely on Warp. It is suggested that you use either
Warp since there have been significant improvements
made to OS/2.
There are known bugs with the notebook control. If you have
selected that the tab text be centered or right justified,
it will actually be left justified.
If you have entered a text string in a control that is
greater than 255 characters in length, the control will
only display the first 255 characters. There appears to be
a bug within the dialogue manager of PM that causes this
problem.
================ < Problem Determination > =================
All software is not perfect and we aren't going to claim
that ours is.
If a problem occurs within Prominare Lite that causes a
memory protection violation, a message will be displayed
showing the memory address where the violation occurred.
Further information will be found within the directory
where the Prominare Lite was installed within
specific files associated with each application:
Application Excception File

Prominare Lite Designer.XCP
=============================================
When a memory protection violation does occur, please
contact Technical Support using the Help Support menu
within Prominare Lite. No telephone support is available.
================== < Advanced Support > ====================
Through the Help menu of the applications you will now find
a new menu item, Support. This menu item will allow you to
complete online a problem report form and have this printed
with information on your system and necessary support files
like the CONFIG.SYS and exception reports attached.
================= < Order Information > ====================
