===================== < N O T I C E > ======================
THIS VERSION OF Prominare Designer WILL ONLY RUN ON OS/2 Warp
Version 3.0, Version 4.0 AND ABOVE.
========================= < Setup > ========================
Setup notes for Release 5b of the Prominare Designer Demo
Edition.
Step Action
===========================================================
1. Create a sub-directory where the upzipped files
will reside. It can be any name, but for purposes
here, it will be assumed that it is called PDD.
2. Copy the PDD.ZIP file into the new directory
PDD.
3. Change to the new directory PDD.
4. Unzip the PDD.ZIP file using PKUNZIP or UNZIP.
5. Run the SETUP.EXE to create the folder for the
shareware edition.
6. You are now ready to use Prominare Designer on
a full time basis from the folder.
7. If you plan to run Prominare Designer from
another application such as Borland's IDE, you
may want to update the LIBPATH variable in your
CONFIG.SYS to include the new directory PDD.
Also, you may want to update the DPATH and HELP
variables to include the new directory PDD
as well.
========================= < Usage > ========================
You can use Prominare Designer as a replacement for the
OS/2 Dialog Box Editor. If you want to just use it to
edit your resources with, make sure that you turn off the
Source code files option when you create a new design.
To use Prominare Designer with your existing projects, you
should create a new design or use the Import resources
option from the Prominare Designer Startup dialogue. Then
select your existing .RES or .RC file and import them.
Prominare Designer will then record internally the full
resource information for all of the resources and you can
then edit them from there.
===================== < Known Bugs > =======================
Warp Version 3
--------------
This version of the Prominare Designer has been tested
completely on Warp. It is suggested that you use either
Warp since there have been significant improvements
made to OS/2.
There are known bugs with the notebook control. If you have
selected that the tab text be centered or right justified,
it will actually be left justified.
If you have entered a text string in a control that is
greater than 255 characters in length, the control will
only display the first 255 characters. There appears to be
a bug within the dialogue manager of PM that causes this
problem.
There are text problems when you apply FixPack 16 or 17.
Depending on the font of the text, the descender may be
missing in multiple line static text usage. Also,
text that is drawn using WinDrawText (ie. in the group box
or static text) erases 1 pel more than it should on the
top and right edges of the drawing rectangle.
Warp Version 4
--------------
This version of the Prominare Designer has been updated for
OS/2 Warp Version 4 and has been tested completely on it.
================ < Problem Determination > =================
All software is not perfect and we aren't going to claim
that ours is.
If a problem occurs within Prominare Designer that causes a
memory protection violation, a message will be displayed
showing the memory address where the violation occurred.
Further information will be found within the directory
where the Prominare Designer was installed within
specific files associated with each application:
Application Exception File
---------------------------------------------
Prominare Designer Designer.XCP
=============================================
When a memory protection violation does occur, please
contact Technical Support using the Help Support menu
within Prominare Designer. No telephone support is available.
================== < Advanced Support > ====================
Through the Help menu of the applications you will now find
a new menu item, Support. This menu item will allow you to
complete online a problem report form and have this printed
with information on your system and necessary support files
like the CONFIG.SYS and exception reports attached.
================= < Order Information > ====================

complete replacement to the standard OS/2 Dialog Box
Editor. Not only will it do the complete resources, it
will generate the corresponding source code.
