  8. Introduction:

  10.    Version 4.5 of the OS/2 PCM Compatibility Testkit adds the ability for
  11.    PCM manufacturers to test with the new "OS/2 Warp Server for e-business"
  12.    as well as the previous OS/2 versions covered in the V4.1 testkit.
  13.  
  14.    In addition, there is information and support for the OS/2 PCM
  15.    Compatibility Testkit on the World Wide Web.

  19.    Subsequent testkit fixpacks can be found on the PCM WEB site, and will
  20.    have a version and date listed for when the fixpack was created.

  32.    Download, print and review the documentation before beginning to use the
  33.    PCM Testkit V4.5.

  36. Installation:
  37.  
  38.     1. Install the PCM Testkit BASE testcases, selecting to update config.sys
  39.        and install all testcases applicable to your system.  Also install the
  40.        PCM Testkit LAN testcases prior to this fixpack installation.
  41.  
  42.     2. Shutdown and reboot, this sets the environment variables for the
  43.        Testkit.  The environment variables are used by the fixpack install
  44.        to determine the OS/2 boot drive and the testcase drive letters.
  45.  
  46.     3. To update the BASE testcases Insert the v45BASE update diskette in
  47.        drive a:
  48.  
  49.     4. Open an OS/2 window and type:  A:\V45UPGRD.CMD
  50.  
  51.        This will copy the updates to the correct directories on both the
  52.        OS/2 and testcase drives.
  53.  
  54.     5. To update the LAN testcases Insert the v45LAN update diskette in
  55.        drive a:

  57.     6. Open an OS/2 window change and type:  A:\LAN_INST\INSTALL.CMD
  58.  
  59.        This will copy the updates to the correct directories on the
  60.        OS/2 drive.

  62.     7. Proceed with Testkit execution and results processing.

  99.     This upgrade contains the following changes from the V4.1 fixpacks.

  101.     1. ITLMSG.CMD  &  ITLLD.CMD
  102.  
  103.           Changes to testcases for messaging.  Both testcases now use
  104.           broadcast message for receiver1 instead of specific send to either
  105.           D01 or S01, and receiver2 goes to either requester R01 or R02.
  106.  
  107.     2. ASVRRSLT.CMD  -  Results Processing
  108.  
  109.         . Change to System Monitor testcase analysis to check for 1 or
  110.           more instance of D01,R01,R02 test targets.  Allows monitor
  111.           testcase output file to have more than 1 interval or item monitiored.
  112.     new . Changed check for ITLDUMP.TXT if more than 1 "x" found in
  113.           PROB column, pcmscore.txt gets flagged with "COMMENT".

  115.     3. CLEARLAN.CMD  -  LAN Testcase logfile cleanup

  117.           Correction for mismatched quotes.

  119.     4. LANSETUP.CMD  -  LAN Testing Setup

  121.         . Change to use os2 boot drive instead of hardcoded C: for
  122.           temporary files during R01 lansetup to allow testing where
  123.           bootdrive is D: and C: drive is unformatted.
  124.     new . Prior to setup on each system, if NETACC.BKP not found, then command
  125.           BACKACC used to capture original accounts data before any setup.

  127.     5. CHEKRSLT.CMD  -  Base Testing Analysis Routine

  129.         . Change to check of FORMAT testcase.  When diskette format with HPFS
  130.           is attempted, OS/2 Fixpack 32 returns only sys0530 and no sys1276,
  131.           and with OS/2 fixpack 36, only sys1512 is generated.  Changes made to
  132.           allow testing with OS/2 without fixpack, and with fixpack 32 & 36.
  133.           Results should be 15-sys1276, or 14-sys1276 and 1 of sys0530 or sys1512
  134.     new . Change SNF006 check for >10 "font daemon not found" messages, >10 passes.
  135.     new . Change for Y2K Multimedia testcase logfile analysis routine.
  136.     new . Change TESTBAD messages when PCM_CDS testcase was used.
  137.     new . Change TIMERDD logfile checking to remove HZ32.EXE RTC testcase.

  139.     6. COPYRES.CMD & MAKERAW1.CMD  -  Multimedia testcase logfile analysis

  141.           Replace old ALLRAW.EXE with new routine MAKERAW1.CMD for Y2K compliance.
