  31.    After the successful installation of OpenDoc Multimedia for OS/2 Warp, a 
  32.    Multimedia folder will be located on your Desktop (or updated if you had 
  33.    previously installed the Multimedia code shipped as part of OS/2 Warp.). 
  34.    The contents of this folder are shown in <a href="#FIG4610S51">Figure 132</a>.  These may vary on 
  35.    your system depending on the options selected during installation.

  48.    If you had a previous version of Multimedia code installed, you may find 
  49.    that some players are missing from this folder. The reason is that they 
  50.    have now been integrated as part of the pop-up menus of the Multimedia 
  51.    files as a result of the document-centric approach that is part of 
  52.    OpenDoc. 
  53. <p>
  54.    After the installation of OpenDoc Multimedia for OS/2, not only will the 
  55.    contents of the Multimedia folder change, but also the applications 
  56.    associated with the icons.  For example, the screen shown in <a href="#FIG4610S52">Figure 133</a> 
  57.    shows the new look of the Compact Disc player.

  70.    Each new OpenDoc Multimedia component has powerful functionality built 
  71.    into its context pop-up menu that can be accessed by clicking on the icons 
  72.    with the second mouse button.

  82.    The Audio, Video, and MIDI OpenDoc objects have a default <B>Play</B> action (in 
  83.    their pop-up menus).  This is a quick play option that does not load a 
  84.    specific player or editor, but, based on the file type in the multimedia 
  85.    component kind, plays the file automatically (this default option can also 
  86.    be accessed double-clicking on the object icon). 
  87. <p>
  88.    The <B>Player</B> option on the pop-up menu is used to start a generic player. 
  89.    The generic player provides a user interface to starting, stopping, 
  90.    pausing, and rewinding a Multimedia file. 
  91. <p>
  92.    The Image and Audio files have a <B>Convert</B> <B>to</B> option on the pop-up menu to 
  93.    allow the conversion of these files to another format (for example, BMP to 
  94.    JPG and WAV to AU).

  96.    The Multimedia folder shown in <a href="#FIG4610S51">Figure 132</a> also includes an icon for the 
  97.    Multimedia templates.  Double-click on this icon to open the folder 
  98.    contents and you will get the screen shown in <a href="#FIG4610S53">Figure 134</a>.

  111.    You can drag any of these icons to your Desktop to create new objects or 
  112.    combine them with other OpenDoc templates to create compound documents 
  113.    like the one shown in <a href="#FIG4610S54">Figure 135</a>.

  115.    All these templates will allow you to include several types of multimedia 
  116.    files in your OpenDoc documents.

  129.    This sample is made of the following four different OpenDoc templates:

  140.    To create this document, use the following steps: 
  141. <p>
  142.    1.  Drag and drop the Page Layout Part icon from the OpenDoc Templates 
  143.        folder to the Desktop.  This one will be the Root Part of our compound 
  144.        document. 
  145. <p>
  146.    2.  Double-click on the newly created icon to open a document window that 
  147.        has the Page Layout Part as its Root Part. 
  148. <p>
  149.    3.  Drag and drop the Text Part from the OpenDoc Templates folder to the 
  150.        document window. 
  151. <p>
  152.    4.  Type some text on the Text Part. 
  153. <p>
  154.    5.  Open the Multimedia folder. 
  155. <p>
  156.    6.  Open the Multimedia Templates folder. 
  157. <p>
  158.    7.  Drag and drop a sample image from the Images folder that is in the 
  159.        OpenDoc Multimedia folder onto the document area.

  161.    8.  Drag and drop a sample video file onto the document area.  The video 
  162.        player can be started by double-clicking on the video image.

  165.    After all this operations, the results should be similar to the document 
  166.    shown on <a href="#FIG4610S54">Figure 135</a>.
