  30.    OpenDoc is owned by CI Labs, a non-profit industry association that 
  31.    adopts, licenses and validates multi-platform distributed component 
  32.    software.  CI Labs offers the following two kinds of memberships: 
  33. <p>
  34.    1.  Sponsors, such as IBM and Apple, which are companies with long term 
  35.        interest in building component technologies.  They are on the board of 
  36.        directors. 
  37.    2.  Subscribers, such as develpoers and vendors, which have an interest in 
  38.        building components upon the technologies provided by CI Labs.  They 
  39.        have access to all the source code as OpenDoc, OSA, Bento and SOM and 
  40.        can participate and vote in all taskforces of CI Labs.  The annual fee 
  41.        is $350.

  43.    CI Labs is committed to adopting and including the standards defined by 
  44.    OMG. While OMG, which is a member of CI Labs, is focusing on defining 
  45.    interfaces for objects, CI Labs is focusing on the implementation side. 
  46.    These technologies, developed by CI Labs and OMG, are designed to be 
  47.    portable and will be supported on multiple platforms such as Macintosh, 
  48.    OS/2, Windows, Unix, OS/400 and MVS.
