  31.    CI Labs licenses and promotes the technologies contributed by the sponsor 
  32.    companies, and distributes them as reference source code.  Members will 
  33.    continue to compete on other technologies that differentiate their 
  34.    business solutions, as they contribute to CI Labs their 
  35.    "non-differentiating" infrastructure technologies.  CI Labs manages the 
  36.    specifications for the technologies under its control, and performs the 
  37.    following functions:

  40.    ░   Adopts and promotes the key technologies essential for software 
  41.        components to integrate information and media from different 
  42.        applications within a networked environment and on multiple platforms. 
  43. <p>
  44.    ░   Provides license reference source code to developers and system 
  45.        vendors. 
  46. <p>
  47.    ░   Provides open access to decision making and priority assessment in a 
  48.        vendor-neutral forum for system manufacturers, software vendors, 
  49.        organizations with in-house developers, and purchasers of systems and 
  50.        application software. 
  51. <p>
  52.    ░   Manages and facilitates software contributions, design discussions, 
  53.        technology definition and evolution. 
  54. <p>
  55.    ░   Supports developers in adopting these new technologies by providing 
  56.        test suites, documentation and training. 
  57. <p>
  58.    ░   Validates interoperability of components and platforms through a 
  59.        comprehensive testing program. 
  60. <p>
  61.    ░   Assists in marketing efforts. 
  62. <p>
  63.    ░   Collaborates with standards organizations (such as the OMG) on 
  64.        relevant issues.
