1.3.3 OpenDoc the Solution

</banner>

There are many different views that one can have of OpenDoc. It is not
that every company who is working with OpenDoc has a different view, but
rather that the developers and users see it differently.

From a user's view OpenDoc provides a new model for software
interoperability that enables the creation of distributed, cross-platform
component software. OpenDoc architecture allows the different
applications to work together seamlessly. OpenDoc technology is designed
to enable the creation of simple, single-function component applications
that work the way people work. Components can be "mixed and matched" to
assemble custom made, integrated solutions. OpenDoc has the ability to
streamline and simplify the process of sharing information. It allows
users to work with and exchange compound documents, that integrate text,
graphics, tables, video, sound, animation, and other data, easily and
intuitively.
