If you have previously installed the pre-release
version of the OpenDoc Developer's Kit for OS/2, you
must remove it from your system prior to installing
this feature.
Destination directory changes will result in extra
disk space usage as well as potential conflicts in
which version of the files are used, prior INI entry
changes, and the like.
To ensure all pre-release files are removed and the
respective INI entries cleared, it is recommended that
you reformat your OS/2 boot partition for a fresh
start.

OpenDoc For OS/2 is required for all OpenDoc functions
including the Multimedia OpenDoc System that is included
elsewhere within this product.
This package REQUIRES the prior installation of the FixPak and
a re-boot to activate the changes made.
The Multimedia OpenDoc System does not require the prior
installation of the Base Multimedia Function shipped with WARP.
This package includes the full Base Multimedia Function.
This read me contains details of how to uninstall Multimedia
Opendoc and OpenDoc for OS/2. You will perform one re-boot in
the middle of each uninstall routine. These are critical at the
indicated time. If not done as listed, files will still be in
use and therefore cannot be deleted.
How to Uninstall Multimedia OpenDoc
-----------------------------------
The following steps must be used to uninstall Multimedia for Opendoc.
This will also uninstall Multimedia. You will have to install the
Multimedia that came with your operating system in order to get the
prior version of Multimedia. The following step must be done in
order.
1. Find where Multimedia is installed on your machine. Look for the
drive with the MMOS2 directory in the root directory. Change
your directory to \MMOS2\INSTALL.
2. Execute the cmd DINSTSND.CMD.
3. Execute the cmd INSTMMVW.CMD -R. Do not forget the parm '-R'.
4. Remove all references to MMOS2 from your config.sys file. In the
PATH, LIBPATH, and HELP statements just delete the clause containing
MMOS2. Also delete anyother statement containing MMOS2. Finally
delete the statement "SET NCDEBUG=4000".
5. Reboot your machine.
6. Delete all files and sub-directories in MMOS2. Erase all files in
MMOS2 and delete MMOS2.
7. Delete the Multimedia folder that is on the desktop and all contents.
(This could be done prior to the re-boot.)
You have now successfully uninstalled Multimedia. The Multimedia OpenDoc
will be removed with Multimedia.
How to Uninstall OpenDoc for OS/2
---------------------------------
The following steps must be used to uninstall Opendoc for OS/2.
The following step must be done in order.
1. Uninstall Multimedia OpenDoc if it is installed (see the process
above).
2. Close all open OpenDoc documents.
3. Delete the 'OpenDoc Templates' and 'OpenDoc Shell Plugins' folder from
the Workplace Shell desktop.
4. Delete PARTREG.BTO, AVLSRVR.BTO, OPENDOC.INI and OSA.INI files, if they
exist, from the OS2 directory on your boot drive.
5. Remove all references to OPENDOC from the config.sys. These will
all be clause removals.
6. Re-boot your machine.
7. If you installed via the Developer Connection CDs, select the
Developer Connection Object on your desktop and find the object
for OpenDoc for OS/2. Double click on it. This will bring up the
Software Installer version for OpenDoc.
8. If you installed from a package on the BBs, then go into the
OPENPACK directory in that package and run INSTOD. This will
bring up the Software Installer version for OpenDoc.
9. Do a deletion by selecting CONTINUE on the first screen. Then
select 'Delete and Re-install' and the CONTINUE push button on
the second screen. Select OpenDoc Base and the Delete pushbutton
on the next screen.
When this is completed, you have now successfully uninstalled OpenDoc
for OS/2.
System Requirements during Installation
=======================================
The SWAPPER.DAT file may grow during this installation.
To do a full installation on an 8MB RAM system, at least 16MB
of disk space should be available to SWAPPER.DAT.
Systems with more RAM require less disk space (for
example, a system with 16MB RAM will require 10MB of
disk space for a full installation).
You must have at least 16 MB of disk space on your installation drive.
