  4. This is just a little system-friendly hack made by Tomas Ögren...
  5.  
  6. Background story:
  7. -----------------
  8. I use OS/2. I hate that file-requester (WinFileDlg). I fixed it with the help
  9. of the following programs:
  10.  
  11. . OS/2 Warp 3.0 (And Merlin beta)
  12. . ResMgr by Martin Lafaix (lafaix@mimosa.unice.fr)
  13. . RC.EXE from OS/2 Warp by IBM (I guess..)
  14. . DLGEDIT.EXE from OS/2 Warp Developers Toolkit by IBM
  15. . Brains/ideas from Tomas Ögren (that's me..)
  16.  
  17. I resized/moved/reordered the items in the dialog and added some hotkeys.
  18.  
  19. Use the PATCH.CMD to patch your own PMSDMRI.DLL (target dll).. See below..
  20.  
  21. I included snapshots of the req, so you can watch-before-switch..
  22. (The colors are my own only, and will not affect your system.)

  24. On request by Rafe Tennenbaum <rtenn@quicklink.com> i have now included a
  25. smaller version that will fit on 640x480 and above..

  52. Stuff required:

  54. OS/2
  55. RC.EXE (Included in OS/2)
  56. Resource Manager, ResMgr, Included in archive.

  58. Usage:
  59. ------
  60. Make a backup of your \OS2\DLL\PMSDMRI.DLL (just for sure..)
  61. Copy x:\OS2\DLL\PMSDMRI.DLL (x: = OS/2 drive) to the current directory
  62. run "PATCH.CMD PMSDMRI.DLL LARGE"  (for the larger version)
  63. run "PATCH.CMD PMSDMRI.DLL SMALL"  (for the smaller version)
  64. Run UNLOCK.EXE x:\OS2\DLL\PMSDMRI.DLL (x: = OS/2 drive)
  65. Copy the patched PMSDMRI.DLL over the old one
  66. Reboot.
  67. Connect to the Internet.
  68. Send an thank-you-email to "Tomas Ögren" <stric@freenet.hut.fi>
  69. Send an e-mail to IBM and tell them to include my dialog in future OS/2's
  70. Enjoy.

  80.                o Now it patches your own DLL (No need for me to include
  81.                  different versions for every version of OS/2)
  82.                o Now included the UNLOCK.EXE utility by Andrew Zabolotny
