  7. Mhifix provides a workaround for an OS/2 limitation
  8. that can cause the Master Help Index to appear empty.
  9.  
  10. The master help index can only accomodate a certain
  11. number of help files; the exact limit depends on the
  12. sizes of the files involved. When the limit is reached,
  13. the master help index does not display any entries.
  14. The limit is more likely to be reached in a network
  15. environment where large numbers of HLP files exist.
  16.  
  17. This workaround circumvents the problem by restricting
  18. the master help index to only showing the index entries
  19. for the base OS/2 components. With the fix installed,
  20. index entries for any other programs do not appear in
  21. the master index. The online help for each program
  22. continues to work normally.

  24. Add this fix only if it is needed; that is,
  25. if the master index is blank.
  26. No object is created in the NetDoor folder when this fix is added.
