  4. This sample program illustrates the process of recording audio data. To record 
  5. a new file, select the New menu item in the File menu to open a new file. 
  6. Then, Select the Record push button to start recording audio data. 
  7.  
  8. To record audio into an existing audio file, select the Open... menu item in 
  9. the File menu and select a specific waveform file from the pop-up window. Then, 
  10. select Record push button to start recording audio data. 
  11.  
  12. As stated above, select the Record push button to record audio data into a new 
  13. or existing file. 
  14.  
  15. Select the Play push button to play an audio file.  A new audio file that was 
  16. just recorded may be played, or an existing audio file may be opened and played 
  17. using the Open menu item from the File 
  18.  
  19. Select the Stop push button to stop playing an audio file or to stop recording 
  20. audio data. 
  21.  
  22. Select the Rewind push button to return to the beginning of the currently 
  23. loaded audio file. 
  24.  
  25. Select the Fast Forward push button to advance to the end of the currently 
  26. loaded audio file.

  28. Adjust the audio volume of the currently loaded audio file by using the Volume 
  29. control.

  31. Select the Options menu to configure the recording device.

  33. The Show status line menu item in the Options menu may be used to control the 
  34. status line displayed on the main window of the Recorder. 
  35.  
  36. Select the Type menu to configure the audio format of the waveform file being 
  37. recorded. The options on the Type menu will only be enabled when a new audio 
  38. file is loaded. When an existing audio file is loaded, the applicable iptions 
  39. in the Type menu will be selected to reflect the properties of the file. The 
  40. rest of the options on the Type menu will be disabled.

  45. The following keys can be used to control the Audio Recorder sample program:

  48.      Move among choices.

  50. Alt 
  51.      Switch to or from the menu of an application window.

  53. Up and Down arrow keys 
  54.      Move among the push buttons, when focus is on the push button. 
  55.  
  56. Left and Right arrow keys 
  57.      Move among the push buttons, when focus is on the push button. When focus 
  58.      is on the volume control use left arrow key to decrease, right arrow key 
  59.      to increase the volume level.
