INTRODUCTION
============
These Release Notes (RNs) describe errors and restrictions found in the
software, and give other information not appropriate for the printed
manuals. Also, they introduce you to the on-disk documentation, which
supplements the manuals.
Where an entry arose from a problem or enhancement request that has a
reference number, the reference number is given. This is to enable
Product Support to help you more quickly if you should need to call them.
These numbers are called Product Discrepancy Report (PDR) numbers. In
addition each entry includes a note of the build at which it first
appeared in the Release Notes.
ON-DISK DOCUMENTATION
=====================
Additional on-disk documentation is found in the high-level CICS OS/2
directory. The default name given to this directory at product install
time is C:\CICS200. The file provided by IBM is named README.TXT, and
it is found in this directory after CICS OS/2 is installed.
BEFORE INSTALLING
=================
Before installing the system:
o Take a moment to read the license Agreement, and then complete the
User Registration Card and return it to Micro Focus. It will help us
to support you and inform you about new product developments.
o Read the chapter "Installing and Maintaining Your CICS OS/2 Option"
in the CICS OS/2 Option User Guide supplied.
KNOWN ERRORS
============
Unless reference to a specific operating system is made, the term
"protection violation" in the following section refers to a protection
violation under OS/2 or a hang under DOS.
General Known Errors
--------------------
o On occasion programs "help" and "linein" are not found when
invoking a CMENU function key. A new CMENU source file has
been supplied to fix this problem; it can be found in the
\CICS200\MCO2 directory as file MCMENU.MNU.
To fix this problem, delete its associated file MCMENU.MNT.
This .MNT file is the compiled counterpart of the source
MCMENU.MNU file. After deleting the .MNT file, restart the
Developer Interface. A new MCMENU.MNT will be generated and
the problem thereafter fixed.
Developer Interface Known Errors
--------------------------------
o Advanced BMS Screens session may "hang" if the requisite level
of the Workbench product is not used. The requisite level is
Workbench version 3.1.56 (or later).
KNOWN ERRORS IN RELATED SOFTWARE
================================
o The XDB preprocessor has been enhanced in update 7, which was
being tested in March 1994. This enhancement allows the XDB
preprocessor to accept Micro Focus checker directives "P" and
"ENDP". Programs checked from the Developer Interface with
the XDB or XDB+DLI toggle set will not check successfully
unless this new preprocessor is installed.
SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION
=========================
Multi-Session Debugging Facility
--------------------------------
o The Multi-Session Debugging Facility of the CICS OS/2 Option
is enabled with this update. (CICS OS/2 V2.0 service level UN59266 /
CICS OS/2 Option service level S030212). See Your User Guide for
details of how to use.
Manually Deleting Your Installed System
---------------------------------------
You can, if circumstances require it, delete your installed CICS OS/2
Option from outside the installation and maintenance program, as follows:
o Remove the high-level directory into which you installed the
CICS OS/2 Option (for example, C:\CICS200), and all its subdirectories.
o Delete the CICS OS/2 Option folder from the OS/2 desktop.
o Delete the installation software control files (EPFI*.*)
from the \OS2\SYSTEM directory on your boot drive.
o Remove the \BTRIEVE directory from its current location.
(Initially installed to the boot drive)
Remember to restart your system.
