  5. Hypermake is a compiler converting plain ASCII text with only few commands to 
  6. HTML, IPF, RTF-Winhelp, RTF-Text and MS HTML-Help files. An OS/2, a Windows and 
  7. a DOS version is available. Hypermake is Shareware 40-90$ when compiling bigger 
  8. source files than 20 kB, otherwise Freeware.

  10. HYMAKE.EXE is the graphical version of Hypermake with integrated editor and 
  11. settings notebook. HMAKE.EXE is the simple commandline compiler. Normally you 
  12. will use HYMAKE.EXE.

  15. Installation:

  17. (1) Unpack all Hypermake files and directories to a new directory of your 
  18. choice. You can delete the language specific GERMAN folder.
  19.  
  20. (2) Start HMinstal. This will generate three new file associations for HMP 
  21. files. You'll get three new entries in the "open" item of the context menu of 
  22. all HMP files and double clicking starts Hypermake. You will also get a
  23. "Hypermake" folder on your desktop.

  25. (3) Before you can use Hypermake together with viewers and help compilers,
  26. you have to tell Hypermake the filenames.  Start Hypermake (HYMAKE.EXE) 
  27. and open the "View" and "2nd comp" page of the program settings (View -
  28. Program settings). The Netscape browser filename ends with
  29. \netscape4\program\netscape.exe. If the name is correct, the edit field
  30. gets green.

  33. If you want to have a draft overview, then start HTML_SMP.HMP and compare the 
  34. source text (View - Source text - sample.txt) with the HTML files (View - Final 
  35. Output).

  37. Principally, you can create the delivered OS/2 Help file by yourself:
  38. ENGLISH\HELPDOCU.HMP is the project file for creating this help file,
  39. and ENGLISH\DOCU.TXT is the Hypermake source text.

  52. EUR), wenn Sie größere Quelltexte als 20 kB bearbeiten möchten, anderenfalls 
  53. ist es Freeware.

  61. (1) Packen Sie alle Hypermake Dateien und Unterverzeichnisse in einem neuen 
  62. Verzeichnis Ihrer Wahl aus.

  64. (2) Starten Sie HMINSTAL.CMD. Dieses Programm erzeugt drei Programmobjekte mit 
  65. der Dateizuordnung *.HMP. Jede HMP-Datei erhält so drei Einträge bei 
  66. Kontextmenü - Öffnen. Doppelklick auf die HMP-Datei startet Hypermake 
  67. (graphische Version). Außerdem wird ein Hypermake Ordner auf der Arbeits-
  68. oberfläche erzeugt.

  70. (3) Bevor Sie die interne Hilfe (das sind die gelblichen Knöpfe mit 
  71. Fragezeichen) benutzen können, müssen Sie in Hypermake den Namen des HTML 
  72. Browsers festlegen. Rufen Sie hierfür mit Ansicht - Programm-Einstellungen die 
  73. Seite "View" auf und tragen den Namen des HTML Browsers ein; der Dateiname des 
  74. Netscape Browsers endet mit ...\netscape4\program\netscape.exe. Wenn der Name 
  75. richtig eingegeben ist, wird das Eingabefeld grün.

  77. Wenn Sie eine schnelle Einführung in Hypermake wünschen, so starten Sie am 
  78. besten HTML_BSP.HMP und vergleichen den Quelltext (Ansicht - Quelltext) mit den 
  79. erzeugten HTML-Dateien (Ansicht - Endergebnis).

  81. Im Prinzip können Sie den beiliegenden Hilfetext auch selbst erzeugen: 
  82. GERMAN\HELPDOKU.HMP ist die Projekt-Datei zum Erzeugen des Hilfetextes,
  83. GERMAN\DOKU.TXT ist der Hypermake Quelltext.
