OpenDOC DIVE Demo Part by Synaptec, Inc.
----------------------------------------
This upgrade to the DIVE demo part features a new animation utilizing a
color palette. Also, the number of frames has increased, allowing for a
smoother animation appearance.
DIVE (Direct Interface Video Extensions) is a OS/2 multimedia subsystem
which allows graphics programs to take advantage of video accelerator hardware.
This provides programs such as games or animation programs much faster video
updates than that possible with Presentation Manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
-------------
This demo is compatible with the OpenDOC toolkit found on the Developer
Connection CD-ROM Volume #7. You will need to install the following from
this CD-ROM:
1. OpenDOC Developer Toolkit
2. OS/2 Warp Developer Toolkit
3. OS/2 Warp Fixpack #5
INSTALLATION:
-------------
Copy DOCDIVE.DLL and all *.BMP files from this floppy into the \OPENDOC\BIN
directory. You will need to modify the PARTS.DAT file also found in the
\OPENDOC\BIN directory. Add a line at the bottom of PARTS.DAT which matches
the last line in the sample PARTS.DAT found on this floppy.
FEATURES:
---------
1. Embedding the OpenDOC DIVE part from the EMBED menu will cause the
animation to be displayed and started.
2. You may freely move the movie and resize it as necessary.
3. Selecting the part will cause the animation to pause, to ease
movement and resizing operations.
4. Deselecting the part will resume the animation.
5. You may embed multiple instances of the movie concurrently.
KNOWN LIMITATIONS:
------------------
1. The animation floats on top of the screen, clipping all PM windows.
2. The part does not currently save itself when the document is closed.
3. If the document shell is closed while an animation is runnning,
ghost images will sometimes appear on the desktop. Refreshing the
desktop will remove these.
